If you like memoirs I recommend Beautiful by Katie Piper. It's about a sweet, but very vain girl who relied on her looks for everything really, even her job needed her looks. She went on to get a boyfriend who turned dangerous and he had acid thrown in her face. It chronicles how she dealt with it and the last scars, physical and mental. How she got on with her life after losing her career as a model and how she pulled her self out of a dark place. It's heartbreaking and heart warming at the same time. It's one if my favourite memoirs. She has a second one out now about what she's doing now.

I also snagged HOW TO BUILD A GIRL. Hoping it's relatable as I was about the same age as the protagonist in the 90's. I will also be another person who tells you BURIAL RITES is amazing. Yeah. It's amazing. I'm currently reading THE AGE OF MIRACLES. It's a great YA to adult transition book but focuses more on a girl's adolescent experiences as she comes to terms with the changes in the world. I'm enjoying it so far. Great haul! How to build a girl is basically a fiction based very heavily on her childhood/teen years. It's a good book if you haven't read "How to be a woman" or watched her tv show 'Raised by wolves'. I wanted more fiction to it and not just "I was born in the north and had a weird xhildhoo" again and again

"He's six five..." Tall girl approach to men: hight first, everything else is secondary.
@WhittyNovels8 жыл бұрын
+marlinelina i thought that googling the height of an actor before anything else was normal. guess not. (but at least if there's ever any trivia about the height of commonly admired male actors, I got those)
@mothman28 жыл бұрын
+marlinelina Judging men on how tall they are is as dumb as men judging women on how big their breasts are.
@JustEssayIt8 жыл бұрын
mothman2 In case you couldn't tell, my comment was just a little bit sarcastic. I'd also be lying if I didn't admit that I have a preference for tall men, since I am really tall myself and I prefer someone who's taller than me. We all have personal preferences when it comes to appearance, but I would never make appearance the sole criterium I judge someone by.
@WhittyNovels8 жыл бұрын
mothman2 who said we were judging
@mothman28 жыл бұрын
By stating height comes first you are judging a man for his suitability to possibly date. So say a guy is 5 ft 5, he is very probably going to be judged not tall enough and discarded on this alone. I like women of all shapes and sizes, I simply can't get my head around physical preferences for dating, baffles me.
