Hey guys! I hope you're all taking care during this time. I wanted to make a list of books you can read that are cozy, or wholesome, or lovely, or filled with nature, or thought provoking. There are also some classics on this list--I know a lot of people have lost jobs and income, so if you don't have a big disposable income to spend on books at the moment, classics are generally really cheap if not free! And even though the libraries are closed (at least, libraries in Australia are) remember there's always apps like Libby which allow you to borrow audio books or ebooks for free so long as you have a library card 💛Enormous love. Take care. I hope you're all okay xx

Thank you for this, Christy! Also, I appreciate you thinking about people not being able to buy new books, that's so thoughtful of you. I'm about to watch the video so I don't know if you've mentioned Neil Gaiman's audiobooks, read by him, free on Mouse circus. Since you've talked a lot about it in the past, I listened to the Graveyard book and it was a calming and cosy listen in such a stressful moment, so thank you for the suggestion! Your videos are an instant infusion of happiness and calm, especially during this time. Take care, stay safe and healthy. 💛💛💛

Convenience Store Woman is one of my absolute favorites! It’s such a beautiful book, and I found it quite haunting in a way as I’ve read it for a year now I think, and I still think about it until today. xx

Sapiens was my favorite read last year! I’m reading Homo deus now. Also reading Shirley by Charlotte Bronte and A Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft.

I recently read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrelland and loved it so much. I thought it was perfect for this time too. It's very magical, humorous, whimsical, and so much fun. It's like Harry Potter for grown-ups. It's huge too 😅 so it'll entertain you at least for a week 🌞 I loved it a lot 💖

I'm noting down the first in the list. Sounds like it's the book I'm looking for; lovely natural imagery and strong setting. I'm currently reading Convenience Store Woman :) Didn't expect to laugh so much. I'd like to recommend Kim Ji-Young, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-joo. The English translation published by Scribner was recently released.

If you haven't read Daisy Jones and the Six yet, then I'd recommend that one :) (this was the first video from you I stumbled upon) I listened to the audio and it was awesome! It's about a life of a rock band during the 70s, all the ups and downs and it was just so fun to listen to that it made me search if the band was actually real :D (it was not). But it made me wish all the songs they were talking about were real and that I could actually go and listen to them. It's made in interview form and has a whole cast in the audiobook. Otherwise, also from the audiobook world, Sadie was an interesting find. I bet they'd be good in regular old book form also, but I feel the audiobook versions made them 5x more alive :) I'll definitely give Never Let Me Go another turn (since I remember not understanding it that much when I read it at 16) and find some of the other ebooks from my online library :)

I'm sorry if you're not in the position/able to stay at home at the moment! I know lots of people aren't able to 🙁 I'm still working a 9-to-5 so I don't have any additional free time, aside from travel time, but I'm fortunate that my work place has accommodated us for self isolation. Take care 💛

@@serenity8910 You're doing an amazing job! Thank you so much for being one of the people on the front-line to help during this situation. I'm in constant awe at the medical staff, researchers and first responders who are working incredibly hard and are doing everything they can to help during this time. I hope, when this is all over, you get a much deserved break, lots of sleep and lots of cozy reading time. Thank you.
