That you would go ahead and place a book in a low tier b/c that's where you truly felt it belonged, despite the fact that you very much wanted to like it and found the author a lovely person speaks to your integrity and independence of mind as a reviewer. Your willingness to break with the wave of popular praise for Virginia Woolf does the same. Respect.

Ohh ... Flowers for Algernon. Hardest cry I've ever had reading a book. My soul collapsed; I couldn't help it.

That was a great video. In this new setup, it's like there are no walls behind the bookcases (specially with the changing coloured lights). Very creative way of organizing your bookshelves. Hope you gave yourself space to add lots of new good books. ❤📚

I think this is the first time I’ve seen Goblin Emperor on anyone’s list! Might I recommend The Hands of the Emperor by Victoria Goddard, it is STUNNING and has a similar effect as Goblin Emperor! It’s a 900p door stopper, but oh man I wish it was longer (and it is, there’s a sequel and a whole slew of novellas!), it made me giggle out loud and cry real tears. It has so so much heart!

So happy to see many of my faves high on your list, because there's a good chance I would like your other, very diverse A-tier books. Thank you for this video! The one I don't understand is Legends and Lattes, which is D-tier to me -- it should have been a short story because it got so boring and repetitive quickly. But such is the fun in being different readers :)

One of my Edogava Renpo favorites is a short story from his Conan Doyle phase. I really liked the main villain being basically female Moriarty.

This is the second time I've heard someone praise Andrea Gibson in the past 24hrs when I probably haven't thought of her since I saw her in college maybe 14 years ago (I took my friend who was obsessed with her as a present). Maybe this is a hint to read more of her 😂😅 I don't read horror (I am still haunted by Jaws, the last time I tried anything creepy 😅). But of the (other) ones I've read on this list, I agree on the ranking. I vaguely remember reading flowers for algernon when i was younger. I will have to revisit. Mostly I just like hearing you talk about books 😊

I had to read To the Lighthouse in college and got nothing out of it (except boredom)... Thought it was pretensious and self-obsessed not in an interesting way. I've procrastinated 20+ years! on giving Woolf another chance and probably will try Orlando, but I feel validated! But I love Einstein's Dreams...

What did Laura Purcell do? 😅I really liked The Silent Companions and have already bought The Corset to read. I feel like I am out of the loop? Is one of her books offensive in some way?

37:04 I actually hated Murder of Roger Akroyd. Extremely boring (I knew the ending going in, but even if I hadn't, it'd still be boring), and the ending may have been innovative at the time, but has now been done to death.

Can you do a video where you show all the trans books you have? Seperating them by fiction/non fiction. My next year's theme is going to be "trans fiction" and I'm trying to find new books. My main problem is finding trans guy's books that aren't YA

I read Flowers for Algernon when I was in high school. It wasn't for class. I chose to read it on my own and I cried at the end. Good to know I'm not alone in that. It's one of my all time favorite books.

As a trans person myself; I must say a title like “who’s afraid of gender?” Sounds rather juvenile, and doesn’t really sound thoughtful either.
