You can grow into and out of an allergy. My son would eat peanut butter out of the jar in high school, he later developed a peanut allergy. He’s now able to eat it again. They say you renew your body (basically, dealing with brain fog myself) every 7 years. And they make veggie cheese. My youngest had a dairy intolerance as a toddler and we got him the veggie cheese.

The library looks great! I think when you do a DIY project it is so easy to only see the flaws, but they dont stand out to me at all and I think it looks awesome! Cant wait to see it with the shelves full of books! Also, as a nurse, you saying you’re going to test out more types of nuts to see if youre allergic makes me very nervous! Id say to just assume youre allergic to all tree nuts (all nuts other than peanuts) until you can get formal allergy testing or discuss with your doctor and it sounds to me like you should definitely have an epi pen! Stay safe!

This is very late lmao I’m catching up on old videos I missed but I used the sims to help me decorate my new apartment because it had floor plans but no dimensions and it helped so much! By the time I got to move in I only had to make a few adjustments. And with the health thing, I really hope you’re feeling better now. I had a similar issue where after my second bout of Covid and dealing with very inexperienced doctors, I was sick (it felt like an upper respiratory infection) for 3 months. I actually had a coughing fit so hard I tore a muscle in my chest. Once I started to see better doctors they helped me realize that I’m actually slightly allergic to almost everything, and that taking allergy medicine helped me feel better after that incident and up until now. Obviously it’s a different grade from what you went through, but I understand the frustration of trying different things and having nothing work. Hope you’re doing a lot better 9 months in the future!

I also started developing new allergies too. This summer I got a weird rash on my legs and arms and I had a bad reaction to a wasp sting, swelling and my skin there felt really hard. I did have to switch pills a few years ago, because my insurance wouldn't cover the other ones, which I preferred since my symptoms weren't as bad with the other, but I don't know for sure if it caused my new allergies. I did switch back to the previous pills. I actually discovered an allergy to cashews in 2015, and I know when it happened, because it was during my internship at the VA in Washington DC, through my college.

I am SO glad to hear I'm not the only one who has developed food sensitivities because of the pill! Several years ago I started taking a combo pill to help my hormonal acne and it worked amazingly. I started having GI issues a few months later and it progressively got worse, so I changed to a different pill. It didn't work quite as well for my acne so about a year later, I changed back and my food sensitivities came back with a vengeance. I DNF'd it (lol) almost immediately, and I've just never been the same. I've tried explaining my theory to a couple doctors, but it's essentially been ignored. It feels so validating to hear that I may not be entirely crazy! 😅

I feel you on the haircut. My aunt was my hair stylist forever, and she retired. So then I went a few years without a hair cut. Then, I finally paid my nephew (an amateur hair stylist) to cut my hair a year ago, because the pandemic made me mistrustful of a stranger up in my face. Then I got surgery and radiation therapy on my face to remove a bunch of cancer, and now I feel so self conscious about how a bunch of my hair fell out and I have a permanent bald spot because the radiation killed the hair follicles. I don't know of any hair stylist that might make me feel better about cutting what's left of my hair. The hospital where I got treatments has a salon, so maybe I can ask for help there.

1. I love my wonky imperfect home projects because I did them! After decades of telling myself I am rubbish at everything, it's amazing to see 'success' 2. We had bin thieves at our last home, even with numbers on our bins! And I hate the smelly broken bins that got left behind by the thieves. I try to swap them back the following bin day, and it became a game. I once called it quits and ordered a replacement, but that got stolen too! Since moving we share the driveway with 2 neighbours and it's easy to keep track/ swap back if needed. 3. The body is super weird. Do you think if you stopped the hormones your allergy will 'reverse'? Or is it more once its switched on genetically, that's it. The thing is, I know people who have developed anaphylaxis later in life to wasp stings, and some foods (not on hormones coz they're blokes). I think it was down to repeated exposure and their immune system becoming sensitised. But then allergy clinics do repeated exposure for desensitisation to manage allergies. Science doesn't always make sense to me. Anyway, glad you have worked out the answer so you can make your changes to keep feeling better. Can I ask what test they did to pick up the new nut allergy?
