To me, this scene shows just how much Sam means to Dean. He wanted to stay there with them so much; to live the life he had always wanted. In the end, however, he chose to be with Sam. Powerful scene. One of my favorites of the entire series. And how about this music? This scene is all around fucking great.

No one does pain, torment, despair and tears like Jensen, one of the many reasons I love this series. That beating at the end of S5 is the hardest scene for me to watch, Dean not fighting back and Sam with the flashbacks..DAMN I love this show.

Never fails, I cry everytime! Has to be the best but yet most heartbreaking scene in the entire second season, actually in the entire show... he had everything right there in his hands but chose to give it up because it's all his head. You can't hold onto something like that just because it feels good & he knew that that's why I love this scene and why I love his character. When I was 12 I lost my mother and I never had a father figure through my life . When this episode started playing on TV I broke down watching these scenes. Now years later I still crumble watching this. Supernatural always finds a way to connect your personal experiences with the show. I will forever enjoy this episode

Just imagine being at Dean's place and realising that you have your perfect life you have always wanted . The normalcy you have always wanted so ethereal.. But at the same time knowing that all this isn't real, the people around you everything you see none of it is real.. Such a bittersweet experience . a feeling a can't be explained in words.. Wat would you do if u were at his place.. Will you stay.. No matter how beautiful the dream will be... I would prefer the harsh reality for unknown reason.. Love this show

Excuse me while I go lock myself in the bathroom and cry for days. The acting in this scene... It's incredible. This is definitely Jensen's best episode, at least to me. The rest of the cast was completely brilliant in this scene, but Jensen really breaks my heart with this one. And Jared asking "Why is it our job to save everyone?" always kills me. The music in this scene is heart-wrenchingly beautiful, too. It's really just an amazing, sob-inducing episode.

Forever one of my favorite episodes on the show. Dean choosing to wake back up because he realized it was all just a stupid fantasy must've been a tough decision to make and come out of. I also think what made him snap out of it was see how distant he was from Sam in that other life. Sammy is his world and if he has to give up hunting and live some peachy life with his living mother and beautiful wife/girlfriend whatever but not be close to his brother he would take it all back in a heart beat

Loads of people who hate Lisa always say it came out of nowhere, and what's with this whole want for a normal family business? Well here it is, right here! This is where you see him for the first time with a normal life, and he loves it! He wants SO badly to stay, even if it costs him is LIFE!! Is it any wonder he later fell for Lisa and her son, the normal life, the ordinary family he wanted so badly, for so long?

I just watched this episode today for the first in years. This scene hit me so hard. Just think that after this scene if Dean stayed. Him and Sam could’ve had a future together and you just wonder what life Dean would’ve had staying. There’s so much love from everyone in this scene for Dean. And to think that Dean wanted this life so badly he was almost willing to deny his instincts and let that girl die. That shows how good his life was here. The ending and the beginning of his experience in the world he knew something was wrong but started to feel okay and just let things play out. Another iconic moment in this episode was when he visited his dads grave. Dean knew what he wanted but he still just heard what his father was telling him to do. Not what Dean wanted to do. There’s so much emotion in this episode if you think about it in ways like this. It’s one of my favorite episodes in the entire series because it’s so beautiful to see the boys get a happy ending where there’s no angels, no demons. Just life. Sorry this was so long I shoulda broken this up into parts. 😅

There are still demons and angels and other kind of monsters even in that dream reality, what proved it was that moment in this episode where Dean sees that all the people he, Sam and John ever saved ended up dead without their help. They just weren't smacking in the middle of all that supernatural business in the dream reality that's the difference.

I don't believe the track has ever been officially released in its entirety.
