Saw this show during its initial run & loved it; finally re-watched it more than a decade later and still loved it. A shame it didn't last, but sometimes great shows just don't find their audience fast enough.

Can someone tell me what the medieval style artwork on the table in Opening Credits is (around 8seconds) in the Boomtown TV series. Maybe looks like the devil tempting eve with an apple? But im not sure and cant find the information anywhere, thanks!

Almost twelve years ago, I sat in my high school film study class and our teacher, Mr. Zinger, screened the first three episodes of this to us during a study hall type of situation. I remember all of us being so enthralled by the opening title sequence that one time, when he skipped it to save a little time, we all turned to his desk and yelled at him, all so personally offended haha. I’ll always love and respect this show. I hate when terrific ideas are too ahead of their time...would love to see it recaptured, in a modern Netflix kind of way. One of my favorites. Thanks for the upload.

I've been catching up with Justified recently (nearly done!) and it's quickly become one of my favorite shows on tv. Imagine my surprise when I read that Boomtown and Justified were both created by Graham Yost. I loved the hell out of Boomtown when it was on. And it cemented Neal McDonough as my favorite actor ever. Now that I'm on the most recent Justified season where he's the villain, I think it's time to go back and watch Boomtown all over again.

NBC blew it when they cancelled this show. Southland as well.

Hate the fact that good shows like this gets cancelled.

This show never should have been on broadcast television. It was too good for NBC. They tried to do a one-hour "Rashomon" every week for people who for the most part couldn't even spell "Rashomon." So they dumbed it down and ruined what attracted people to it in the first place.

It's one of those things..man..if only they would've pitched this show to cable or HBO, then it might've found it's audience. Retooling the format in the second season and placing in the Friday night time slot, just completely killed it dead. It's funny...because this show premiered when my freshman year of high school started. I tried to convince my friends to watch this with no avail. They were all hooked on CSI.

It came along at the wrong time. On a streaming platform, the potential would be unlimited.

The first couple episodes give you whiplish... about mid-first season the pacing ironed out. The 2nd season had been stripped down... its a small surprise it was canceled after that.

@solidjdr Should go on Amazon and buy season 1. You can buy it used and ship it in the $6 neighborhood. Best 19 episodes of TV you'll watch in a while

This show was going to evolve procedural. Looking at the broadcast options for procedural on broadcast. ABC and Fox with their contrived buddy procedurals. CBS and NBC and their bland simplistic procedurals. Which this show had kept it original concept in the second season and had went on to do good series run.

@Ajvngou No problem. I'm working on getting season 2 up here as well, although I like to pretend that season 2 doesn't exist.

At least,Donnie still has Blue Bloods to keep him going.

@SG1Mitchell I agree Crime procedurals today are too simplistic. Why was the innovation of NYPD Blue and Homicide not continued on broadcast. Most procedural today don't do real character development. Seriously the three best crime dramas are all on basic cable. 1.Justified, 2.South Land, 3. The Closer

Great series, unique way of production. Shame they felt the need to redo the formula for second season.

Blue Bloods is no where near as good as this show though. It had promise incthe beginning but succumbed to the Bland Cbs procedural formula. At least cable has a couple of good complex crime dramas.
