Not sure if you have already done this or plan to. I’d look into changing the front single piston calipers over to 2000-2001 dual piston style. I believe you could run 3 gen brakes / brembos but not entirely sure. You would need to change the spindle and control arms but it gets rid of that giant wheel bearing brake disc setup and moves to a unit bearing hub like the newer trucks. Hope this helps!

You need to redrill the perch and move rear back on locator pins about a inch to center the rear end. All my 2nd gens had to do that to .

If you just hold and lock the brake pedal depressed in about an inch or two it won't drip out on you.

So the axles were the same length over all? Going to all that work I would of installed a 4 link.

Found a rear end out of a 06 quad cab srt 10. Do you think it would be to much rear brake?

anyone know anything about the brake proportioning valve because rear drums required different pressure than the disc brakes we want to convert to?

Did you attempt to make the parking brake function?

Im looking to do a swap like this on a budget drift truck. Did you use a specific rear end from a 3rd gen ram? Like 2wd or 4x4? Or are they pretty much the same?

Do they make bigger breack for those

Why not just unbolt and swap just the backing plates?

Don't clamp the brake hose. It will ruin it. Push the brake pedal down one inch and it blocks the chamber and fluid will not leak
@davidriggins1591 Жыл бұрын
So it's same width?

If your truck is a ss/t why doesn't it have factory rear disc brakes? I've read all ss/t's came factory with rear disc brakes.

Wherever you’re sourcing that information from is wrong.

Couldn't you just weld the axle tube flanges and use all the disk brake hardware backing plates caliper mounts disks metering block etc like you would do with a disk brake conversion kit, rather than a later model diff than having to do all this time wasting fabrication on the perches and figuring out drive line angles and everything else involved using a entirely different rear end?

I have a 94 ram 5.2 What years will fit ...Easy swap .
@keithhaynes5348 Жыл бұрын
I'd still swap the same demonstrated axle. Your choices are; 3rd gen with disc, or any 94-99, but your stuck with drums.
