I made a mistake when I drew the split reverse welt. I drew the uppers pressed against the wrong side of the split. Of course, the uppers should be on the other side so that the split is flanged up against the uppers!

Excellent video. Why is the stitching on the bottom of the Grant Diesel boot a different color than on the top? Aren't they supposed to be the same thread, or am I missing something?
@Bootlosophy11 ай бұрын
Actually two threads, one from top, one from bobbin below, and crossing inside. That’s why it’s ok to wear them off on the sole
@andrewkwhitecustomfilms11 ай бұрын
@@Bootlosophy Interesting. Sounds like a seriously heavy duty machine that stitches it. Edit: I think I understand--the bobbin thread gets pulled into the middle. So I guess that you're saying the thread wearing out on the bottom isn't a problem because the glue is bonding the thread at the intersection point? Or is it just the friction involved that is locking it in?
@Bootlosophy11 ай бұрын
@@andrewkwhitecustomfilms both, the glue and the fact the two threads interlock. Google Landis stitcher
