Borderlands (franchise) - Motion Controls Guide (And Why You Should Use It)

A completely new way of experiencing the Borderlands series, this time with motion controls (aka: Gyro Aim)!!! This method works with the Steam Deck and with any PS4, PS5, and Switch controllers on the PC version of the game
Borderlands 1, 2, Pre-Sequel, Attack of the Dragon's Keep:

FAQ:
Q: Can gyro be used on consoles?
A: Yes, but it's only available on a limited list of games. If you want it for your favorite game, ask the developers about it.
Q: Can I use your configs on non-steam games?
A: Yes! Just change the name of the non-steam game to the steam ID of that game (that you can easily find on SteamDB), and you'll have access to all community configs. If the steam overlay doesn't work, try using a program called GLOSSI.
Q: Can gyro emulate the right analog stick?
A: It can, but it's not ideal. My configurations all emulate a mouse, unless stated otherwise.
Q: What is the name of the 3D Controller Overlay?
A: It's called 3D Controller Overlay (created by: @larfingshnew6965) It's free!

Q: When I press the “home” button in-game, nothing happens. (PC only)
A: make sure that the drivers of your controller are active by going to: Steam, Settings, Controller, enable Steam Input for the controller that you are using.
Also, activate “Use Big Picture Overlay when using a controller” by going to Steam, Settings, In-Game.

Gyro Aim is cool, but borderlands is really designed for twinstick. It has zoom to target for god sakes, people complain about aim assistance but aim assistance isn't the auto aim they claim, zoom to target though is. It automatically moves you onto the nearest target on ADS. I think analog sticks are misunderstood, analog was never meant to be accurate, it is supposed to be smooth because a D-pad isn't. It's for moving fast and shooting fast, not accuracy. Aim assistance is only unfair in games where it is poorly implemented, and in most of those cases it often is unhelpful as often as it is helpful.

Glad you like it! The buttons aren't remapped on the config itself, I remapped them in-game so menus and stuff like that still works without much trouble. Unfortunately I don't have Wonderlands yet, but I assume that my BL3 config works just as well on that game. So you can go to my BL3 config, save it like a template and apply to Wonderlands! If that works I would really appreciate it if you let me know!

The reason that Steam cannot detect the mouse is due to the game using an ingame cursor setting rather than just using windows and Steam only knows how to detect the windows cursor.

do you use Steam input or another software ? because when I use Steam input, there is no button layout for PS :

Yeah, I'm using steam input. I was wondering if there is a way to mod the game to show different icons.

The steam changes to contoller settings make your old videos very hard to use to set up gyro for someone who wants to try it, now the options are everywhere lol.

Yeah, it's true. I try to mitigate that as best as I could but fortunately I made another in-depth guide with the new Steam UI, so if any of my videos fail to teach something, I'm sure that anyone can find what they want on that new in-depth video.

i played borderlands 2 with gyro, the issue was that i hated borderlands.
