Lee Mack and David Mitchell are the regular team captains on this. Lee is also a decent stand up comic, and he stars in a great sitcom he wrote, called Not Going Out.

He now Hosts,ITV'S brilliant "1%" Show which is one of the best quizzes that I have seen. 100 contestants whittled down to the Final "1%" questions,which means that only one percent of THe British Public knew the answer and the prize is a share of £100,000 for every successful winner or the last contestant(s) can take £10,000 and not answer the last question and risk going home with nothing. I will give you a typical question(my spelling IS correct). Try and get it and look below for the right answer. "Pwhich pof thep follopwing plives pin thep seap?" . The three options are 1/ BOLT 2/CLAMP 3/ SCREW AND you have only 30 seconds.... Answer: B= CLAMp...............just remove all the above letter "p's" to get Which of the following lives in the sea? :)

Lee wasn't misdirecting with the "he's a builder" comment. He was just making a joke. Had his story not been the true one, he'd have had no idea which of the other two was true.
@helenwood8482 Жыл бұрын
It was a misdirect and a joke. Lee often pretends to mess up.
@TomNoles0079 ай бұрын
No mate, you've misinterpreted that - Lee is definitely misdirecting in order to plant the seed of doubt in David's team.
@dannykent61909 ай бұрын
He's absolutely not misdirecting. There's no logic chain in which that misdirect would work. If Lee's story weren't true, then David is smart enough to know that Lee wouldn't know which of the other two stories was true. Ergo, David would know that Lee didn't know whether or not the man was a builder, and would immediately be able to surmise that Lee had not "accidentally given something away." It was a joke. It was intended as a joke. It was received as a joke. There is no deeper meaning to find.

The best of Lee Mack on WILTY is so funny, TBH... I've never really liked his Stand Up though, it's ok but I was disappointed because of just how intelligent and witty he is. In fact, I would go as far as saying he is the most quick witted comic I haver ever come across and that's why he is a superstar when it comes to being a panelist. My stand up opinion is just my opinion, many may disagree.. but I certainly di recommend his best bits.

I really enjoyed that but into my 70th year,I have found that though there are "exceptions to every rule" there is an awful lot of truths in "stereotypes". For example, yesterday, on KZbin a Guy from The USA was asked, which Country had the most Doctors per capita, and out of all the 200 Countries, worldwide, both he and I said a very small Country: ISRAEL........and we were both correct. Two things I have learned about Stereotypes over the 7 decads: 1/ Not everyone in any Group holds the stereotype true, sometimes not even a majority in that Group and 2/ That does not mean that some "others" also prove the stereotype but not in such great numbers.

@BoringReviews Жыл бұрын
Or because people accept them as true because so many others say it and it’s easier to accept than find out the oneself
@Isleofskye Жыл бұрын
@@BoringReviews Yes, that can happen but there is an easy answer. Just take a stereotype and then check a large survey of people, who it is believed may well be part of that stereotype, and see how true it is. Example: My Mum told me around 50 years ago "You will never meet a poor jew".She was wrong.I DID. I think it was in 1978 and then another one in 2002. Certainly in The UK,where they are only 1 in 200 of the total populace, they have 7/10 richest people where it should be .. 6,400 BILLION X 200.....i.e.200 to the power of 7. That is because they are extremely well educated, shrewd, clever and help each other and they own 2/4 biggest supermarket. The largest 2/3 Bookmakers (Gambling). 70% of The London Diamond Trade where it should be one-half of one percent,per capita etc and I am not Jewish. I guarantee Worldwide you will find similar results in THe USA, for example. Either they or their Parents are, invariably, Professionals or eminent in their chosen Profession . I just looked up "Nobel Prize Winners" and 22% of all Winners are Jewish yet they comprise "0.2" or One-Fifth of One percent of the World's population so that is 110 times more than, statistically, should be the case...lol
@renejean2523 Жыл бұрын
@@Isleofskye - Interesting example. Rather more thought-provoking than 'you'll never meet a Frenchmen who doesn't smell of garlic and have a mistress' I think the key factor must be education. Unless I'm missing something. I don't think it's genetic and I doubt that it's down to luck. And surely it can't be the bagels. There are only 15 million Jews worldwide and they sure do punch above their weight in all aspects of life from economics to creative arts. And to top it off, in the most recent table Israel is *4th* in happiness rankings!
