He is a qualified lawyer . He first appeared on UK TV back in the 1980's with Vic Reeves. A naturally funny man.

He's had a heart bi-pass and now his joints and muscles are wasting. His best friend, fellow comedian, Paul Whitehouse helped him by introducing him to fishing. This has been televised on the BBC, they are so funny together.

Having grown up on a North Eastern council estate where a house opposite us had a horse(full size) smash it's head through the front window...from the inside out...presumably to get to the overgrown grass in the front garden. Bob has been half of the double act Reeves and Mortimer (or Vic and Bob) for over 30 odd years - very funny, often surreal and off the wall humour. One of the best shows was ‘Shooting Stars’ a very funny take on a quiz show. Although the ‘Masterchef’ sketch they did is still etched into the darkest recesses of my mind, probably the most dark and disturbing comedy sketches ever written!

may i give you a slight tip ,i come from the same area as bob and it goes from being very industrial and coal mines to very beautiful countryside in a matter of a few miles in one direction and sandy coast line in the other and i think the reason everyone gets bob wrong is a majority of them grew up in a totally different environment and cant believe his life experiences but in our area his lifestyle would have been the norm not the exception , you had to make your own entertainment and 6o years ago you just went out with your friends on adventures, i myself use to go out the house at ten in the morning and not be home till nine at night , i was ten at the time ,as where we lived it would not get dark till gone ten at night in the summer and it was light again by five in the morning .

As a few others have mentioned - you must read his autobiography. It’s a great read. I’ve been watching Bob since his 1990 and the tv series Vic Reeves’ Big Night Out. In fact, I still have the VHS cassettes on which I recorded all of the episodes. I think he also narrates the audiobook of it. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We had a haunted house down the road when I was growing up in the 60's. It was overgrown and we never saw who lived there and it was thought a witch did. The children ran past this house as we thought the witch would grab us if we were slow going past. Years later I found out it was an old widow who lived there who had become a recluse after her husband had died in WW11.

Bob has famously been part of a double act for decades in the UK, himself and Vic Reeves or just 'Vic & Bob'. They did some great tv throughout the years including The Smell of Reeves & Mortimer, Vic & Bob's Big Night Out, Shooting Stars and House of Fools. Their humour has always been very wacky and typically British. Bob had a triple bypass about a decade ago and had to semi retire unfortunately.

I had a local Witch when I was a kid in the early 90s: My neighbour. She brought our Cat back from the dead for a few hours after he died (She said if he didn't live after she brought him back she wouldn't be able to do anything else). Local Witches did used to be a thing, and it's odd that so many people have forgotten about it, especially since I'm only in my 30s, so it wasn't that long ago. The more correct term would perhaps be a "Wise Woman" as, rather than a stereotypical Witch, they were more into old folk remedies and cures for ailments. But, my cat did die, and she took him and brought him back alive, so even though he did die again shortly after, she knew some stuff at least.
