Remember that if the thing on the card is a lie, then it was written by the producers of the show and the contestant (Lee Mack in this case) has never seen it before the moment they read it out. So he didn't choose that random thing to lie about.

Well done Nick, you spotted the legend that was Sean Lock, he was a team captain on two other panel shows, 8 out of 10 cats, and a mash up of that and a serious day-time quiz show. The mash up is called 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, which is still as popular & funny as WILTY. Might I suggest the three "Carrot in a Box" games, the first was on 8 out of 10 cats, the second was on 8 out 10 cats does countdown, both involving Sean and Jon Richardson. After Sean died, the third one involved Lee Mack and Jon. The woman on Lees team is Scottish tennis coach, and mother of tennis grand slam winner Andy Murry. The guy on Davids' team is Richard Hammond, who used to be one of the presenters of the BBCs most popular export, "Top Gear", sold too more countries than any other British tv show, and spawning replicas in Germany, Australia and the US. Although it's supposedly a car show, it's attraction even to non car drivers was the mayhem they got up to. Richard was lucky to survive a tyre blow-out in a jet powered drag car at 270 mph, which left him in a coma for several weeks.

'Going to the shops' euphemism for going to the toilet could be somewhat confusing but I get your point. The euphemism for going to the toilet in the UK is 'going to spend a penny' because in the Victorian era you had to literally spend a one penny piece in the public lavatory coin-operated locks when you wanted to go.

Ironically, after 69 years of avoiding, successfully, avoiding shopping(other than essentials),I,,actually enjoy an annual visit to IKEA for the experience and totally different items and lifestyle though I would never buy anything to be assembled as I can't even change a plug or modern lightbulb.

The guy with glasses who was in QI was Sean Lock who sadly passed away around the same time as Norm MacDonald and had similair sense of humour - his stand up great and was team captain 8 out of 10 cats does countdown which lee occasionally guest on and sometimes stand in captain when Sean was to ill to record the show

I’m on the fence… I like IKEA because we usually get a meal first and it’s good to relax. But then it’s followed by trudging around a two-story maze than puts your feet to sleep. Like most guys, when I shop somewhere, I like to get in and get out, ASAP.
