I think my way is pretty understated, and it has a big effect. I'd be crazy not to do it. But if you find annotations that annoying, here's how you can turn them all off. Hover over your username at the top, click "Account". Click "playback setup" on the left sidebar, expand the annotations category, uncheck, and save. Presto. No more stars. Again. Youre my bff. In that you take the time to let me know that we matter.... this was awesome... I always had a complex with being raised a catholic jew I never knew how to feel about jesus... my parents always let us celebrate both holidays and go to both church and temple but still it was all very confusing and as i grew up i knew jesus was important but this is a good explaination of how i feel about him... and how i feel about Christmas, thank you for finding the words ive been look for

Thanks, really. I randomly viewed this video and it's beautiful. I am religious and have always been captured by the humility and poverty of Jesus, which I can see you are too. Martin Luther said that if a man could imagine Heaven he'd die from happiness, if he could imagine Hell, he'd die from fear. My favorite Christmas song involves Jesus' coming down from heaven, which I see in Luther's perspective. Again, thanks.

Yeah that's an important point. I think when people say that they relate to (or believe in) Jesus as a person and not God or A god doesn't mean that they dismiss the idea. How can a person relate to God? It is possible though for a person to relate to Jesus as a person. I think Jesus is cool with that. But yeah some people do implicitly say that they believe Jesus was a "good" person but not a deity. I believe Clive had mentioned something about a poached egg in that paragraph as well!

Very nice message, Joe. That is absolutely the heart of Jesus' message: that each and every person on earth has unsurpassable worth. I highly recommend Greg Boyd's book, The Jesus Legend. Would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I'm taking classes about the global rich-poor dichotomy this semester. Depressing stuff.. 1 billion humans live in absolute poverty (less than 1 $ a day), but seeing this video made me think (for some reason) that close to a 100% of all other creatures on earth live receive even less than that. When comparing 99% of all creatures to the 1/7 of all humans, maybe we aren't that bad off anyway! I can engage in gluttony this Christmas with a clear conscience!

The story of Jesus's birth can be very inspirational, just like the numerous works of fiction available to people regarding hardships and poverty. Unfortunately, people tend to think Jesus is the 'most important person in the world.' Either it's gullibility, conditioning, brainwashing, the fear of the unknown, the WANT for there to be 'something', or just plain old saturation; I hope someone speaks the truth to me when I start worshiping Luke Skywalker or Kilgore Trout.

I love Jesus, and I appreciate your take on His Birth. I think His humble birth makes it easier to come to Him. Also Scriptures go on to describe Jesus as not having any natural beauty, nothing to cause us to desire Him. Isn't this all meant to show that while God could easily have made Jesus' Birth, far more comfortable, "safe" and sanitary, and His appearance far more appealing, it was God's Will that His own Son come in humility, as God loves humility but has a great disdain for pride.

I am not religious, but that message was really "divine." The thought of being born and put in an animal trough makes me cringe. The infant's immune system's weak enough already, and now you put him in a virus rich animal food holder. But yeah, saying you're more important than somebody else just because you have more money, or have achieved more doesn't make sense. We're all worth the same, in the end.
