Nice look! Thank you for that tutorial. I’m wondering how to attach those little plastic drawer things to the back of a drawer I have. The back panel of the drawer is pretty thin, so a nail won’t work. I’m wondering about glue or staples as an alternative?

Thanks for sharing this video. When you put the second coat on the top, do use all of the colors or leave the white out? Thanks.
@BorninaBarnBoutique3 жыл бұрын
I repeat the process and use all 3 colors, I’m sorry usually I say that in the video, I may have forgot to say it this time! 😀

Thank you! The pieces that I had to attach to the back are called drawer guides and come in different sizes, I found mine on Amazon!

Hi Kim. I have some tables painted in raw silk and I want to do the paint wash ontop. Wanted to use the brown and cream colours using fusion mineral paint. Was thinking your go to Algonquin. Any suggestions for the second colour? Thanks!

Hi! I like cashmere, raw silk and chateau with Algonquin for a soft blend

Great video - very educational! I had a question about putting the sprayer in the down position. I’m not sure what that means? Do you mean positioning the dial to spray up & down rather than crossways? I know you didn’t prime this one but if you had a piece that you were worried about show through and we’re going to use an oil based primer like Bin, would you use your spray gun or roll it? I’ve been hesitant because the gun has to be cleaned with Ammonia plus the water can ruin your spray gun if you’ve used an oil based paint. Do you find General Finishes Stain Blocker to be as effective as Bin primer? I really appreciate the work you do in these videos. I’ve learned a lot from you.

Thank you! Turning the spray setting adjustment down - closing it so you have less overspray. I would use Shellac if I am concerned about bleed through - I like the spray can shellac - I would not put oil based products in my spray gun -ever - you can but clean up is crazy and I won't take the chance of something in my expensive set up getting ruined. The GF stain blocker is really good - but if you have a bleeder you may need more - the shellac is the best choice - I like the clear shellac by Zinsser

Since you sprayed the paint, how did you get inside the drawer trim?
@BorninaBarnBoutique Жыл бұрын
I show this in many of my videos - I remove the drawersand paint the interior frame and sides of the drawers as well - for the sides I hold up cardboard and spray along the side. It is just easier and produces a better finish for the drawers to be in and upright

Once you get done spraying the drawers do you let that fully dry or do you pull them out to dry? Love your work Thanks
@BorninaBarnBoutique2 жыл бұрын
Thank you and yes I pull them out and let them dry and then paint the inside frame as well to make it look nice and finished

Prepped my new cabinet doors and brush painted them with 3 coats (sanding in between ) with diluted F&B paint. In the center of the doors I do notice some balling ( roping ) as you call it. Is it possible to just sand that area and hit with a very light coat?
@BorninaBarnBoutique3 жыл бұрын
If the paint pulls up - wait for it to dry and then yes sand lightly and add another coat! You can try to blend in jus the area, sometimes you get lucky and that’s all you need to do rather than repost the entire piece

Hi Kim Beautiful job on this piece. Question I have is you painted with all the drawers in. Did you remove them to get all the edges??
@BorninaBarnBoutique3 жыл бұрын
It's a preference, I do take them out and check after spraying - sometimes you will get a nice line that is enough, but I take them out and do paint the interior to make it look nice a clean and finished
@megh16843 жыл бұрын
It turned out lovely! Just wondering, did you scuff sand the sides and drawers before spraying? If not, why? Thanks, Kim.
@BorninaBarnBoutique3 жыл бұрын
I did scuff sand before cleaning, I do with all my pieces, I just didn’t load that footage in the video - it was just an oversight during editing.
