Same here... at least 30 years old. I think it is still in the basement some place. Everyone pretty much stopped using them in favor of the dedicated individual hole saws and these guys act like they've just discovered fire. What's next... :-)

I've got one too that was buried in my dad's toolbox. I didn't realize that the blades came out and tried making the one size hole with all of the blades mounted. I thought the drill was too weak. It's kinda like a uni-bit hole saw.

Just found one of these, maybe 50 years old, in a dark dank corner of my Dad's shed and gave it a try. I now know why it was relegated to the dark dank corner of the shed. Not sure how this thing ever made it into production. The cheap Chinese adjustable circle cutter (fly cutter), whirly gig dispenser of emergency room trips, that I bought out of curiosity works ten times better. Maybe it's time to invest in a good set of hole saws.

Surprised you haven't seen them before. They've been available here in the UK from several manufacturers for as long as I can remember and I presume they're not new over there. Tip: lightly oil them before each use as they can get super hot (because each inch of diameter x each 1,000 rpm = 36mph). Oil won't stop the cutting edge getting hot but it will help to make the temperature change through the whole blade more gradual and thus avoid metal fatigue... these things are quite springy and if a big one lets go at 3,000+ rpm you may end the day with fewer fingers than you woke up with. If your drill has variable speed, use the slowest speed that works for the particular job.

Hi These have been available in Australia for decades but they are definitely a DIY thing. But if you need a hole that size and you dont have a real one of the right size they are OK

That's slick for the compact size for an 8 bit kit, compared to the MONSTER BOXES for side by side storage. Plus that ease of the plug removal..... practically fell out on its own compared to even the jagged leverage design hole saws. It's Bosch, there's gonna be far more than 6 holes and done, it'll last a long while

Just bought an older set like this. Mine is different from your's in that each blade has 2 holes (opp each other)at the bottom & 2 holes through edge of blue part where you insert a pin to lock each blade down. Also there's a spring under drill bit to help push core out.

I bought one of those back in the 80s. Don't remember the brand but it was cheap. Still have it and it works fine. Not meant for a two by four.

After I saw your video before blackfriday, I picked it up for $11, brought it to work,i found (the smaller sizes are more Wobbly when starting, the bigger ones are a little easier but) they only lasted a few holes. For a guy who needs a few holes or few different size hole it can be a life saver!

The reason why it bind up is because when you stop it and start to cut again the teeth lock into the wood. You got to back it out first

That is a very old design. Can find them all over the internet and run into them often at auctions and estate sales. They are Spring steel multi hole saws. I have a couple missing some blades that are different cut depths. I wouldn't waste the money the dont stay sharp long at all.

I’ve got one that has 7 blades but cannot figure out how to remove the outer blades so I can use the 1”. I broke one try to get it out. Ridiculous

Mine isn't Bosch but it looks very similar to the kit in the video. With mine you twist anti-clockwise to remove. Wear heavy gloves though as it's easiest if you place your hand over the cutting edge.

I find it useful to drill a pilot hole first - slightly smaller than the pilot bit on the actual kit. This helps to get you going straight right from the start. A large diameter hole saw at high revs is going to generate a significant amount of torque, which is another reason for not using large ones at high speed on a hand held drill without a stabilising handle.

they drill better if you do an outline with the blade first and you put a series of drill holes around perimeter then drill I allows the dust somewhere to go

Don't get me wrong- I'm a huge fan of Bosch tools, but after buying this kit i returned it after attempting one hole. The hole saw wobbled so bad that it caused the pilot bit to fail by bending. Alot of corners cut in this disappointing product. I know Bosch can offer much higher quality DIY Tools and accessories. Nice review though 👍

They have their uses. I've used them many times on things like chipboard, mdf and vinyl flooring. As noted earlier you just have to watch out for the speed/heat... a 4" diameter at 3,000 rpm is over 400mph and that's too much for a light duty DIY product.

NICE EYE PROTECTION!!!! When I see people not using eye protection I know they are not PROFESSIONALS. SAFETY STARTS WITH THE LETTER "S" BUT IT BEGINS WITH YOU............... YOUR MOST IMPORTANT SENSE IS YOUR EYES....AT LEAST PROTECT THAT ONE IF YOU LIKE looking at GIRLS or reading or driving or watching TV.................. If you cut your fingers off at least you can still do the above things.

Don't buy this!!!! Not even worth the $15 bucks I spent on it. To be honest, I didn't expect much based on the money I spent. bit shank snapped after only 5 uses. Blade inserts are flimsy and bend easily.
