This subwoofer is expensive but for equivalent price other subwoofers manufacturers are still with cheap ferrite driver, this one has a neodymium driver.

It's always a pleasure dismantling a speaker, especially an RCF or FBT unit. Discovering drivers of high quality, robust bracing techniques and great choices of construction materials. When I dismantled the complete 3k bose system I expected internal components, drivers and construction of superior quality. Unfortunately I found the column and bass drivers and electronics throughout were nothing more than standard. The internal column/base floor mount foundation itself was literally being held on by only 2-3 screw threads also the same speaker spec throughout all priced models. Not impressive

Took out the Pro32 to compare to my L1M2. Here’s what I found: Pro32 is noticeably louder. Sub2 is louder than two B2’s especially for deep bass. Pro32 is much cleaner with better highs. B2 has better and cleaner mid bass but lacks in the lower bass (I ran 2 together). Conversely the Sub2 has better low bass but mid bass isn’t as clean as the B2. I agree with Opaz again that the Pro32 sounds great but Boss might have missed the mark in the sub. I used my L1M2 bases to power two B2’s and some songs preferred the B2’s for the punch and in others the Sub2 for low end. I suspect something like an EV EKX15sp or the 18 would be killer. More testing to come if I can find one to actually buy. Time to trade in the M2’s and 1S.

Did you have the sub 2 settings correct on back of sub there are different settings for eq etc. I have has no issues with sub 2 with correct eq settings. In fact it is the best sub I’ve heard. Also I lay it flat not standing up, and it has so much punch.

You will need to remove the complete plastic top, I think then more screws will be exposed. I started to remove the handle then I thought, can't be bothered. If I get bored one day Scott, I'll strip the sub completely for you

I think you will only pay for high price on the brand name, the inside of this sub 2 looks nasty high-end brand must be well done inside out..

Having now seen this, I wonder why Bose limits the M20 pole to speakers weighing less than 17.6lbs (basically the S1). With all that solid bracing, it should be able to easily hold 50lbs without any danger of collapsing onto itself. Any thoughts on this? Would the Sub2 pole support an F1 812 top (44lbs)?

@@opaz. now fella. Just tried the F1 Sub today along side the Sub 2. Sub 2 wins hands down in my opinion. Had to crank up the F1 a lot more tho reach the same volume / low end frequency. I’m sending the F1 back and going to get the Sub 2. Like your vids BTW.

I've never heard an F1 but always thought it was overrated. Maybe being just double10's, i fancied larger drivers. Cheers and thanks for the info 👍🏻

The sub 2 will only do deep, that is it. .. which may convince that it's deeper. The jbl, much more musical will go 2Hz lower which you're not gonna really hear. Being a dedicated sub & larger enclosure, the 2 has a bigger footprint therefore sounding louder. Push level control above 11 o'clock and it sounds dreadful. Max out the jbl bass settings and it's still very tidy 👌🏼. For the $ the prx is extremely special. People hear lots of bass and immediately think a speaker is great. .. . so much to learn

Had f1's recently .... heavy heavy HEAVY ... poor response when turned up ! Had 812 bose tops which you basically switched off the bass on to use with f1 ..a very heavy 8 driver cabinet basically point source .. overpriced in my opinion ... am using l32's with 2 sub 2s tonight .... with a t8s mixer... after a quick set up and test I can already hear clearer sound and bass much friendlier at all volumes... haven't tried cranking it up yet until later
