Thanks for your feedback, glad you enjoyed it. I don't think I'm going to do a video pairing a sub with the MK2. My cheap microphone doesn't show the real difference. Remember the 10" MK2 bass section is not a REAL subwoofer, it also has to handle the low mids of the array. I paired the MK2 with the Bose Sub1 and it was a step up to the next level! The Bose Sub2 with your pair of MK2s will be incredible! As a bass player you would probably appreciate the fact that the Sub2 goes down to 37Hz vs 40 Hz of most other subs in this price range. As a drummer the 37Hz is very noticeable for the kick drum. The Sub2 is a very musical sub it equals the clean sound of my SVS SB3000 home Hifi sub, but much louder! Depends on what you are trying to do and the kind of music you play. I never play the Sub2 past 10:30 on the gain. At 11:00 its too much bass, and I'm a Bass Head who listens to loud synth music as well as full symphonies with tympani!

How does the sub2 do outdoor? I tried the sub1 with a pro32 at a beach party but was underwhelming on bass. I want a harder hitting sub. I also really wanted cardioid since sometimes these outdoor parties I have neighbors so directing the sound in 1 direction would be great. Maybe 2 sub1s in cardioid would be a good solution ?

Two Sub1s = 1 Sub2 in volume/output. Two Sub1s will still only go down to 40Hz compared to the Sub2 at 37Hz. I have never tried 2 Sub1s outside but I did try the Sub2 and was very impressed! It sounded very similar to the indoor performance but I was only 20 feet from the sub with no audience in front of it.

I just can't believe this 👆. How can the huge sub 2, the wall shaking, mini fridge size subwoofer consume less wattage? 🤔 😝 I bought the sub 2 and then bought a sub 1 so that I can run off a battery pack! I feel a bit cheated. I will be getting the Anker powerhouse II 800 in a few days to test the system and I am hoping this is wrong?! Anyway Bill, thanks for the tests and enlightening me with of the vagaries of modern electronics! Still scratching my head though...

Please let me know if I'm wrong from your testing. All I can think is the Sub2 amp is much more efficient, with 1,000 watts vs 480 watts. It doesn't have to work so hard to produce the same amount of volume. I can not turn up the Sub2 past 10:30. Too much bass, and I'm a Bass Head! Sub1 same track same volume is at 12:00 - 1:00 on the gain. In further tests pairing the Sub1 and Sub2 with the Pro32 array, same track, I played each till red clipping: Pro32/Sub1 298.6 watts max pull. Pro 32/Sub2 238.2 watts max pull. For safety/max headroom a 600 watt external battery is more than enough.

2 Sub1s = 1 Sub2 in output. Sub1 max 124dB, Sub2 max 129dB and of course goes down much lower. Sub2 is a monster, if you can handle the size/weight. Sub2 is a very musical sub and sounds as clean as my SVS SB3000 Hifi sub. I play the Sub2 at 10:30 with a huge amount of gain to spare. Sub1 did bottom out during these max volume tests before clipping red. Sub2 never bottomed out even after red clipping light on. Even after clipping light comes on I've never heard any sign of distortion from the Sub2. I'm a Bass Head and 11:00 gain is too much!

Try playing a 100 HZ or 50 HZ tone. It’ll definitely show 1,000 watts on the meter. Music won’t is not as powerful as hertz tones.

I have never heard a sign of distortion with the Sub2 even with signal light solid red! Sub1 is another story, with a heavy bass track outdoors, before clip light the woofer bottomed out.

@@WWeiss-nv5vz Yeah, these are good Bose subwoofers. They’re actually safe to play at 123DB according to Bose. 130DB would be an unsafe level according to Bose. I think your sound meter is way off. The Bose Sub 2 is a LOT louder than 102DB. My nice Vizio V51x-j6 soundbar can get up to 107DB without distortion or much dynamic pumping or compression either. If that subwoofer wasn’t louder than 102DB, then that would be sad. Most PA subwoofers gets louder than 120DB. The Bose Sub 2 is an awesome PA subwoofer. It will easily fill a large area especially outdoors with at least 100 people or more. You already think it’s loud and you have earplugs on, so that’s a sign it’s WAY louder than 102DB. I heard the Bose L1 in person and I easily heard it from over 40 feet away and there was a lot of people. The bass sounded clean.

Can i use 2 sub 2s for upto 200 people? Also which one do you suggest 2 elx200 12sp vs 2 sub 2s. Iam a super skinny guy and cant carry around big subs.

You're a pretty strong skinny guy if you can handle two Sub2's! Sub2's are next level compared to ELX12 but you lose App control. If you need the power of the Sub2 and App, look at the EV ELX 200- 18sp 64 lbs Bose Sub 2 52 lbs.

Thanks, the 37Hz low end of the Sub2 is very noticeable compared to the 40Hz of the Sub1when playing electronic synth music and kick drum. Sub2 has endless headroom that I never go over 10:30 on the gain. A little surprised during these max dB tests the Sub1 audibly bottomed out before red clipping. Sub2 is the safer way to go if you don't mind the monster weight/size of the Sub2.

@@josealfredfernandes No reason, I would never turn it up past maybe 2:00 at unity gain. That would be solid red on the indicator. If woofer or amp blows even though it is under warranty Bose tech could tell and that falls under mis use not covered under warranty.

With the S1Pro the better match is the Sub1. The problem is the S1Pro only goes up to 100dB and the Sub2 goes up to 128dB. You have to turn down the Sub2 to around 9:00 or it overpowers the S1Pro. A lot of wasted power! If you play outside, play bass guitar or drums then the Sub2 is worth the extra money and size.
