I’ve been following this build since I was 14 with no car and all I could think abt was owning a Miata, now I’m 22, have my own automotive shop, have owned 70+ cars, (4 Miata’s) and I can say you’re a big part of the reason I’m a DIY type of guy, and rather go my own way before resorting to anyone else’s. What a crazy few years it’s been. Glad to see you back 🙏🏼

I remember when you first got that car. It's come a long way since then. I spent the better part of 20 years building my Cortina, even took a 5 year break from it. It's like you've never put that camera down. Respect dude for not giving up and coming back, even if it's limited. Just hope I get to see the end of the build before my time is up. 😀I am subbed, just not on this account. 😏

Glad to see you back. Looks like your project really got your back against the wall. Surprised you haven’t decided to shave the rear handles. Have you thought about using “Dzus Fasteners”? For the flare. The female part of the fastener is an S shaped spring. It allows for slight misalignment and varying tension. I’ve use them to hold on body panels for sprint cars, dirt late model, Lexanne windows, Trunk skins, hood skins, Etc.
@nessie4278616 сағат бұрын
You could weld the spring retaining tabs to the body of the car. Put countersunk holes in the flare. For the aluminum quarter turn screws. Then you could use a fender welting or a fender beading. Where the body and flare meet. It would keep the flares removable in case you had any accidents or damage. Also, have you thought about just shooting the main base body color on the whole project? And then doing your accent colors and metal flake vinyl. That way, if you had any mishaps, you could just wrap the damaged spots. Not have to worry about doing a color match. or a blend with flakes or candies.

I think with the rear door the best look IMO. Is the cut inside the fender u have more support in the fender. And think opening and closing will be smoother. Also the curve of the fender door cut will flow away from most angles I think the straight cuts will be poking out to much in the body overal lines Love the video super happy to see more about this build We all been waiting for it!!!

Tyler is a watch guy. Had a Pepsi GTM, not sure if it was a Rolex, but a good looking watch nonetheless, in the last video, and a vintage style Casio on this one.
