It sounds really good, and if I buy one and can't figure out how to unpack it, I'll watch again.
@lance1346795 жыл бұрын
I like that the power amp settings emulate the entire power amp section of each tube type, not just the effect of the tubes themselves, which would be fairly minimal other than headroom. This amp also has some good built in effects, with a choice of delay and reverb types, and even compression if you fire up the editor. I'll probably buy this amp soon - it sounds good in every demo I've watched. Thanks for the video.

That tube switcher - the Emperors New Clothes.
@60CycleHumcast5 жыл бұрын
Ive been messing around with it more today and i'm starting to figure out the soul of this amp design, the tube switcher is subtle on low volume settings but becomes more apparent at higher volume, and the clean channel starts to get dirty when turned up past noon. I think this is an amp for people who want tube breakup/character without the practical issues that come with tube breakup. In the end people need to use their own ears and think about their own rigs when shopping for an amp like this.

titmusspaultpaul5 yeah I’d be stoked if he did a comparison. There’s not many videos of the TVP. I was recently on the market for a decent amp too because my Roland cube 30 died. I need to plug it into the software to see what kind of reverb settings are available, i read somewhere that you can swap the delay for a tremolo too, which might be more my speed.

60 Cycle Hum or it might be your intensity (tremolo joke)
@8sigreg5 жыл бұрын
The editor lets you change between spring, plate and hall reverbs, echo can be swapped with tremolo. If using echo, it can be switched between tape, analog or SDE-3000, and the later allows modulation so it can act like chorus. Unfortunately those choices apply to both the clean and lead channels which is a little less flexibility than I’d like. We’re asking the company to fix that in an update on the Facebook Nextone group.

Tube settings sound like an eq change only.....
@60CycleHumcast5 жыл бұрын
the gain clipping feels a little different, but its a subtle change. This amp really deals in subtlety, I'm looking forward to using it live at some point to see what kind of difference those settings make in a mix.
@8sigreg5 жыл бұрын
The tube settings don’t change EQ at all. The settings do a pretty good job of imitating the particular power-tube types at volume and affect breakup and chime mostly. The amp has to be loud for the power-tube breakup to kick in but it’s definitely there.
@bobneptune5 жыл бұрын
Subtle tube difference is probably true to life haha. Always been dubious about the differences
@8sigreg5 жыл бұрын
When the amp is cranked, with the master on full and the lead volume turned way up, switching the tube type makes a subtle but audible difference. The 6V6 breaks up earlier, the 6L6 is rock solid, the EL84 has a little chime and breakup, and the EL34 sounds... like a Marshal head. I have a patch created in the editor that combines the Tweed preamp/tone stack with the British Lead power-amp and sag and bias adjusted like the Tweed power amp, to give me a JTM-45 sort of sound for my lead channel. The clean is the Blackface Deluxe preset. It’s got great lows, a lot more than you’d expect from a 1x12.

@motorrebell5 жыл бұрын
I guess since the amp is fresh out of the box - the new Speaker needs ( approx 20 -30 hours) some loud playing till it finally "Breaks in " and reaches its full sound potential . Always been my experience with brand new amps ( Tube - Modelling - Solid state ) Most people are never aware of it and judge an amp too fast . I always buy used speakers too .
@8sigreg5 жыл бұрын
Stand in front of one live and you won’t think that it’s fatty and fizzy, especially with a broken-in speaker. My Stage at 20 watts with the lead channel and master cranked sounds pretty fat. It takes volume to shake the speaker and once that happens then the amp comes alive. It’s not the equal of a $2K boutique tube amp, but it’s a fun grab and go amp.
