It’s a bandpass with a blend knob. Can be really useful in a live setting, if your sound is either too muddy or too thin

Great demo, Pepe! I’m very happy to be the owner of this exact pedal now. Thanks!

So it's an EQ pedal with 2 controls

If this pedal was like fifty bucks I'd consider it. This must have been really cool back in the '70s though because the funk tones are pretty nice.
@subs47944 ай бұрын
Even 50 bucks is too much, you can do all this does for less $. It's only worth buying for cheap because there are suckers willing to overpay.

So it's a 500 dollar tone knob?
@HawkeyefoxspiritАй бұрын
Yeah, lol actually it’s a $1000 tone knob depending on where you buy it. Your almost better off with a mid priced e.q. rack or just better pick ups .

This is the final pedal I need to get to complete my "long dash" collection. I also have the HM-2... i think it will sound like totally rad with my LP

I haven't heard "Big Log" by Robert Plant for while but this pedal reminded me of the guitar on that song. I just gave it a listen and I think I could be right. It sort of gives a slapback sound to heavy reverb.

seems like a parametric eq without the Q control?
@PepeMusic3 жыл бұрын
That's it, correct. But ultra rare.
@jeffbateman2339 Жыл бұрын
Like a very mild phase shifter?
@PepeMusic Жыл бұрын
Yes, you could say that it is like a static phase shifter.

Wot does it actually do ? 😮
@PepeMusic7 күн бұрын
It is some kind of a parametric equalizer for a single frequency band. Listen to the sound clips to get an idea what the two knobs are doing.

Sounds like it works best with keyboards.

Sounds better as a piano/bass pedal

Could this be the most useless Boss pedal ever?
@PepeMusic3 жыл бұрын
In 1977 you didn't have too many options to shape your tone. Over 40 years later it's easy to say it's useless. I like what it does, but today's prices are insane.
@TheWolfbass3 жыл бұрын
@@PepeMusic Prices are insane because not many people bought it in 1977.A '77/'78 PH-1 doesn't cost a fraction and is still sounds great today.

In the late 70s when this came out you had players like Michael Schenker who would "park" a wah pedal at 3/4 toe-down position for a searing lead sound that would cut through a mix. This pedal basically serves that function minus the treadle. You can place it after dirt or fuzz to create some really crazy sounds. MXR makes a similar pedal called the Q Zone, btw.
@subs47944 ай бұрын
@@phantasmagora6542I saw a video of the guitar player for Khruangbin showing he does what you describe with a wah set at one position.
@WolfMountford4 ай бұрын
No, that would be the Boss Enhancer 😂 It basically just makes you sound like you put on a new set of strings. Does nothing other than that lol
