Without Brad Delp, there is no Boston, simple as that. RIP to one of the greatest rock vocalists that ever lived, you're sorely missed brother.

I 100% agree with you, I was lucky enough to have seen him sing live and without a doubt the best singer I've ever seen live, his voice was silky smooth and he used it like an instrument similar to a melodic lead guitar with the stretches of the strings he had that gift of vibrato with his voice, he's been irreplaceable for Boston and his Beatle juice band, they were incredible with him singing

lmao Tom wrote all those songs, he's the genius behind the band

I’m afraid you’re mistaken. As far as Boston’s debut album, Scholz and Delp co-wrote nearly every song except for “Foreplay/Long Time” (written by Scholz). The tracks “Hitch A Ride”, “Something About You” and “Let Me Take You Home Tonight” were all written solely by Delp. Barry Goudreau was also a major influence on Boston’s guitar sound. Search for "Rockin' Away" which he recorded with Delp in 2007 after they were kicked out of the band by you-know-who, and that's plain to hear. Thanks to Scholz ultimately firing all original members, they’re not even a shell of what they once were on the first three albums. I’ve no idea what Scholz was thinking there, but the band was essentially shot at that point. Have a listen to “Walk On”, “Life, Love & Hope”, or “Corporate America” which feature Fran Cosmo on vocals, and there’s absolutely no comparison. All three of those albums bombed miserably. Scholz is without a doubt a genius when it comes to creating innovative musical equipment and his studio engineering skills, but nothing special as a guitarist. Without Delp, he would have never attained the success that he did.

I met Brad and Tom on the second-to-last night of their first US tour. they spent a couple of hours with me, talking music biz. Brad gave me his home address, and told me to send him anything I wanted, and he would take it directly to the president of Epic Records. When people talk about Brad, they say stuff like "he's the nicest guy in the business." That doesn't even come close to how gentlemanly and kind he really was. Zero ego.

thenhbushman ...I met Brad in '88 at a fair somewhere in Massachusetts..very odd circumstances, and we ended up friends. I was 19, and surprisingly didn't go all teenage fan girl on him. I had a verbal altercation with the date I was with, and he witnessed it..and the date leave me stranded. He came over to make sure I was ok, and waited with me until my father cane to pick me up (he did offer to drive me home, to Rhode Island). I didn't see him often after that, other than concerts, but we did talk on the phone about once a week. One of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. A sweet gentle soul. His death wrecked me. I didn't see it coming. Not one warning sign...I still can't listen to certain songs because of personal memories attached to them. It's 30 yrs this week that I first met him, and I'm a mess..That's how deep this man touched me. He wasn't a rock star to me after that night, he was my friend Brad. 💔💔💔💔💔

very few vocalists can give me goosebumps then make me cry, i remember where i was and what i was doing when i heard he passed, boston is just a cover band now as far as i am concerned, they tried to replace an unreplacable icon, there was only one Brad Delp

Feel so lucky I was able to see Boston back in the day. Brad was such a master, right up there with Freddy Mercury and Steve Perry as all-time great technical singers. And Brad sang with a ton of heart as well. For some reason, I really miss this guy. It's not like I knew him personally, but his talent really impacted my life in positive ways. RIP Brad.
