Is it me or am I the only one who still gets cold chills during the build up when one of the guitars plays on the high strings monotone like while the other guitar and bass play the build up riff on the deeper chords and the drums are driving it with solid pace and the words are so inspiring “and the sun is shining, and I’m on that road” so bad ass I get overwhelmed with goosebumps every time I hear that section even after all these years

Just the way Tommy got his gig with these guys kinda tells me there was some kind of spiritual intervention involved, Brad from the other side maybe trying to save the band he loved and felt bad for leaving or something else idk? He didn't audition or even think he would even have a shot at such a wonderful experience fronting this band, Tom over heard his wife listening to Tommy doing karaoke of a Boston song and swore it was Brad until she showed him it wasn't. What are the chances of something like that happening? I'm certain without knowing that he had the utmost admiration and respect for who and what Brad Delp was and along with the rest of the Boston fans loves the music, he's not trying to be Brad Delp or replace him but he certainly does a fantastic job of honoring a great man and the music he left behind. I've seen many comments under different videos of these guys in reference to Tommy having "no stage presence" wtf does that even mean??? I personally would rather watch someone being sincere and trying to do a good job than having to be embarrassed watching some narcissistic ass hat convulsing on stage stroking his ego, as a long time Boston fan I personally am grateful they found Tommy and offered him the job and I'm sure there isn't a day he doesn't wake up feeling the same way✌🏼️

Exactly right. For mostly better and sometimes worse Boston is Tom's baby. I wish he used Brad and Barry more as song writers rather than trying to do everything himself. @guitarbrian466 жыл бұрын
He's behind the baffles to keep sound out. His kit is totally mic'd and having those baffles allows the sound guy to mix the drums without guitars bleeding into the drum mics. There's other advantages like the drummer not having to compete volume-wise with the rest of the band....he can play without having to beat the drums hard and letting the sound guy do the work.
