Hello BotaJell I’m new to the RC nitro cars and I’m friends with Demetrius in Birmingham just wanted to touch bases with you to make sure I have a full understanding of the breakin process...preheat up to 200/225 and let fully cool to room temp at least twice with the motor a bottom dead center, using 3&1 oil spin the motor over to get the oil on all the parts, add 1N1 Castor to my fuel not sure how much to add...Run 5 tanks of 30/11 byron’s nitro, be sure to mark BDC for each ending and begging of of use
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
CLEVELAND COLEMAN that’s all good things that you can do to your engine and you will see for yourself in the long run as long as you don’t let dirt in your carb. You can also use 1 quart of Byron’s 20/16 if you don’t want to add any 1in1 castor. It’s really not needed because Byron’s uses 50/50 mix of castor and synthetic and during break in it will be rich anyways so there’s plenty of oil so don’t over think it just run it keep it at temps and heat cycle it a few times in the beginning then run it to polish out the cylinder a bit.

Great video Sir , just a helpful comment , at almost the end when you found that small pin inside the crankcase in the new engine you forgot to remove the tiny spring that is inside the crankshaft hole where the pin goes , that spring pushes the pin out against the recoil start shaft and prevent the engine to rotate on the wrong direction when starting it , hopefully the spring stays inside so far, thanks for the video
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Reinaldo Rivera thanks for concern but yes the spring was removed . It's in the spare parts bin. I hope your having fun with yours but if your connecting rod goes like some I have bin seeing lately don't sweat it and don't waste any money on the Dynamite RTR .28 just get a Novarossi 28/8 or a LRP .30X instead! @BOTAJELL3 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🤝 Yes you can turn your rtr into a 4.0 but your better off turning your rtr into a 3.0 if you want to save money. Your RTR is closer to a 3.0 . You would have to change to many things to make it a 4.0 even chassis is different. You can also keep your RTR the way it is and just use 4.0 complete Diffs from insides to out , 4,0 diff cups, all outdrive cups to 4.0 ‘s , then the 4.0 cvd joints/dog bones 🦴 with grease and boots , 4.0 8T front and back shocks , 4.0 lighter center diff gear ⚙️, and call it a day or even get the 4.0 shock towers also ?

Botajell..Hello again.. Quick question.. Im having the same issue with front wheels spinning up on my rtr..What weight diff oils do you recommend?? Also I was on to Rick at RB mods and he recommends his 28/8 over the lrp .32... What are your thought between the two.. I do like the brute power from what ive seen on your vids of the.32.. Im only a Newbie so hence the questions.. Regard Fellow Nitro brother Dwighet181.. and have a good new year to you and yours..
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
dwighet181 the 28-8 is a Novarossi engine and it is better quality then the LRP but I like both and had great luck with both. Rick RB Mods is great with Piccos I’m surprised he didn’t recommend he’s Modified Boost motor? But if your a newbie? Maybe the Novarossi would be easier? The others you will have to really know what to look and hear the sound for. I run 100,000 weight on my center diff and 50,000 on the front and rear diffs

@AdvBrewery6 жыл бұрын
BOTAJELL amainhobbies discount code is WNTCAT15. 15 percent of 400 is 60, hence 340. But yeah bro, I can't see spending the extra 160 bucks on a platform that doesn't come with servos, rx battery, radio, engine, wheels and tires. I can buy the 4.0 the chassis and shock towers for around 75 dollars.still need a few other things but dayummm I'm about to bite on this deal haha.
@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
Chris Brewer the 4.0 is better balanced then the 3.0 and any of the RTRs ! Plus it comes with better diffs that uses 4 spider gears not 2 like RTR and it also comes with sealed and greased axles. It is different and if you were to buy everything it will cost more money! So if you want the best handling on air and ground get the TLR 4.0 Truggy . Then you can use better servos if you want? Most people replace and upgrade the servos on the RTR LOSI after a few months anyways . Thank you so much for the discount code brother!!! 👍🏼👊🍻
@AdvBrewery6 жыл бұрын
Alright awesome. Thanks for your input. I want the Kit badly. But damn, I'm looking at roughly 370 bucks versus easily 1K. If the RTR is 80 percent of the 4.0 then I will be happy, and my bank account can live to spend another day. lol, thanks again.

What's Up John, just so I'm clear here, are you leaning out the low needle only? no tuning to the high speed at all yet at this point? Thanks! -Craig from Oregon
@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
Craig Wesley after you set your idle gap to 1/2 mm I preheat my engine to 200 F degrees then I try to start it and see if the engine can idle for at least 5 or 7 seconds. If she can’t idle? I will only lean out the low speed until she can idle for at least 5 seconds. Once she does that I will throw the car on the ground and start driving it back and forth full throttle. Then I will start leaning out the high speed needle little by little until she sounds good and starts to clear up a bit. Sometimes the idle sound will go up when you get to this point and if that happens do not touch your idle screw!!!!! You want to lower your idle sound with your low speed needle by richening it very little.

I have the same truggy about 2 months old haven't run it much, would you be able to tell me the needle settings?
@BOTAJELL5 жыл бұрын
I don’t go by needle settings ! I go by using Byron’s fuel that has 30-11% Nitro-Oil and medium heat plugs then I go with 1/2mm idle Gap in carb then I preheat to 200 degrees Fahrenheit then I may start out with a settings at flush and flush on low and high if it’s someone else’s car or a newbie that has messed up there carb settings from other shit fuels . I’ll try to get it to run so the engine can give me a signal like if it don’t stay running and idling I’ll lean the low speed a 1/8 every time until it can stay running!!! Then I’ll put it on the ground after it can stay idling and all end points are set and I’ll full throttle it back and forth and I’ll lean the high speed needle until the engine can sounds good and sometimes I will have to richen back the low speed a little after the high speed is good and set up and this will lower the idle sound . I pretty much only use the low speed as a idle and I never touch the idle screw anymore after it’s set to 1/2 mm

Brother Botajell .... watched this video a couple days ago. Great vid, and very informative. With that said, you did something that has bothered me, and while I usually hold comments, I can't. You do a great job in helping newbs, but you being a veteran, you actually did something thats a big no-no. Never use power tools on the heart of your model, or even show that it's ok. When you were installing the backplate, you grabbed the electric screwdriver, put the screw on the end and drove it into the case. You and I both know that the case is soft aluminum, yet the screw is hard steel. It's a recipe for a disaster. If you rewatch the video, the lower right screw went in alot harder than the others. You were smart not to back it out, and is probably fine ..... for now. But the next time that plate has to come off for any reason, I bet dollars to donuts that hole will be stripped. It will then leak air and cause all kinds of running issues. It's a big project to retap to a large size and outside a newbs ability. A new case is the right way to go, but what a hassle. It's not worth it to cut corners on the heart of your machine. Seriously, I think you should make a 5 minute video reinforcing this exact thing. Because you did it, I would hate to think of a newb picking up an 18V electric screwdriver thinking it was ok. I love you man .... and love what you do here .... but for the love of God and your nitro engine .... NEVER do this. Hopefully still your brother .... Larry

I'll have to order that online. This is what they have at the shop near me. www.amainhobbies.com/powermaster-nitro-race-30-car-fuel-9-castor-synthetic-blend-one-quart-pow6147/p217509?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2ZPU4oHz1QIV2rjACh1NsgiVEAQYASABEgJbIPD_BwE

It's the stock carb. I did replace the header with the shorter novarossi one you recommended though.

Piston stop tool
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
ShotTeamBlitz yes but I rather see people use a synthetic rope or a nylon inserted threw the exhaust port to stop the piston

I'm having a hard time finding the stock settings for the carburetor for this motor can you help me out please thank you very much
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
I don’t go by that I go by how it looks and sounds to me . I would start flush and flush and set your idle gap to 1/2 mm then preheat your engine to 200 degrees Fahrenheit then try to fire 🔥 it up and if it can’t stay idling ? I’ll keep leaning the low until it can idle then I’ll set the car on the floor and do full throttle passes and keep leaning the high needle until it sounds good and looks good for me then I’ll back off the low needle if the idle sound goes up ! I’ll never use the idle screw only the low once the 1/2mm gap is set! Only do this if everything is in good shape like fuel systems and gaskets

@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Michael Good day don't sweat it! It's meant to be killed bro! Have fun with it! If it's cold out just preheat engine before you start it and use after run Oil and place the Piston at bottom dead center when not in use

Is it the one for 399$ from losi?
@BOTAJELL5 жыл бұрын
I don’t know I have not checked but this is my daughters Beginner RTR LOSI 8ight T that I highly recommend you to get if your new to this hobby and the one that I love and the one that I personally use and recommend if you want the next level is the TLR 4.0 8ight T race kit and you will have to build that one together and use the engine and servos you like of your choice and the great thing with the kit is that it comes with all the best parts like lightened and hardened steel and machined aluminum parts that are hard anodized plus CVD’s with seals so you can keep them greased and better suspension Plus all 3 upgraded diffs !
@15224655 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! I am not new but still, I have nitro slash 3.3 witch I don’t really like. Too many problems... Losi has rtr with dynamite.28 engine for 399, so I am thinking to get. Is it a big difference between tlr? I am not really gonna go track or something. Just parking lots and street... so I think 399$ Losi perfect for me?

i'm back to check your tips about idle..got it ! thanks..when you first took this for break-in..you said it's a piece o' shit engine..? hey..but look ! it has good HP even on rich side it runs like a Mo-Fo..still has plenty to push..i already started breaking-in mine /following your method..Q- do i have to wait for the engine to drop temp.before adding After Run oil? thanks John..for all help i can learn..peace out Bro !
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Roy Mariano haha good stuff! Once you run modded motors from TNS and get used to them you will know what I'm talking about bro! Even a stock Novarossi or a PICCO or a LRP will be so much better then that Dynamite 28 hands down. Main thing is that you learn from the Dynamite 28 . I've seen it , it's a work horse. Keep up the great work bro your doing great 👍 things. You can put 3in1 whenever Hot or cold! If the motor is hot ? The metals will absorb better anyway and it's great for your bearings and crank and even carburetor. Keeps the crank clean and lubed moisture free

Nice job! I'm looking to get back into nitro with either the losi 8ight t truggy or the kyosho inferno neo st. Which would you recommend fella? Keep up the great work 👍🏻and thanks for the tips
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Gav G I would say the TLR 4.0 8T race kit or even the 3.0 race kit. TLR stands for Team Losi Racing and it's different then the ones called LOSI. You get better quality parts with the TLR stuff . That is what the Pros use and I love them for bashing because there also the most durable and best handling on the ground and in the Air!!! But if you are on a budget? I would definitely do the LOSI 8ight RTR! Best of all there both very easy to get parts from. Manny LHS have them in stock also

BOTAJELL Brilliant thanks, I will have a look at the team Losi kits, thanks for the advice much appreciated...the rtr one in this video looks pretty sweet too I like the paint job it comes with 👍🏻

Gerald Wilson Sr its DYNE1506 but just save up for a better motor like a NOVAROSSI Roma .25 or a REX 28/8 or a LRP 30 or 32! Way way way better then Dynamite 28.
@geraldwilsonsr87827 жыл бұрын
BOTAJELL ..already swapped out the motor .... putting that .28 in a 2.0 Losi buggy me and my son are building together for him...
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Gerald Wilson Sr good stuff! If you are using a smaller and lighter Buggy instead of a TRUGGY ? Then you would have bin better off with the Dynamite.21! There 21 is a better motor that will Rev higher on a Buggy and they don't snap connecting rods as much as the Dynamite RTR .28. Good luck with everything and have fun with your son!
