Very informative videos you got here. Hopefully you'll light a fire under the asses of many people to once again make Nitro RC popular. As long as there are people such as yourself to help others understand that it really isn't that complicated. Too many people get a bad taste in their mouth after trying for the first time and failing because they didn't have a basic understanding of how these engines work. Good job man!

He did. Bought a kyosho with a ke25 and just installed a novarossi 28-3 on a mt. Running it in at the moment. He made it popular. I only drove brushless the last 7 years. Love the nitro stuff but scared to ruin the engine. Find it difficult to hear the difference between hsn and lsn setting when driving. That's also the reason I'm watching his break in vids again. Following them step by step haha

BOTAJELL another question my friend, how often you put 3-in-one oil inside the motor?? Thanks
@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
Luis Rosario put it if it sits more then two days without using the engine. That will eliminate any rust spots from happening on your crank and good for bearings and Piston and just everything and it keeps things clean. Just don't over do it because when you go to start your engine it may not fire up quickly.

You mentioned that for the four first tanks to shut them off after every tank before letting fuel run out and cool down completely. Did you mean to let the engine cool completely or let it cool down to room temperature? (Depending on temp of room). I apologize for asking this often I just want to perform this correctly and get the best performance and longevity of the .28 dynamite engine.
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
Yes when I heat cycle my engines from Nitro to 2 stroke gas ⛽️ it’s to completely cool down to whatever temperature it is outside or in your garage . Make sure you do this with you wheels removed

hey brother, I have the 8ight-T RTR like the one in the video. I've done nitro for 15 years so I have an idea what I'm doing but when trying to prime the carb as you did at 38:30 with the exhaust pulled, it's not pulling fuel. Not even the smallest amount. Any idea what could be causing that?
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
You may just have a air leak somewhere? Check or replace all your exhaust gaskets/O-Rings on pipe and engine and check or replace your fuel tank for cracks and fuel lines !! If you still have the stock dynamite engine? It could also be that the engine is getting tired or worn out? Please do not rebuild or buy another stock dynamite engine! Just upgrade to a Novarossi engine with a back plate so you can use a bump box to start it , you will need a TLR 4.0 engine mount also and you will be set for a long time and much happier and way better performance

Have you ever heard of taking out a shim from the cylinder head (where the glow plug goes in) from the dynamite .21 to increase compression?
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
The dynamite engine is not good for that! It’s not a good quality engine. I have done that to my stock Novarossi.21 Paloma engine I removed the copper color head shim and installed a 8mm vinturie on the carburetor and I used a Novarossi 41001 header with a ERCM SideBleed and it runs awesome. Even with the 9886 pipe it will run awesome aswell. But some engines like most RTR engines you should not do this. I also only run Byron’s 30-11 fuel and medium plug

Hey bro when you said to thicken the diff oil on the buggy what weight should i do for the front and the rear? And i just picked up a back plate engine mount and a novarossi header 41021 and a novarossi pipe and i bought a new protek 14 tooth clutch bell. I want all those tires to have power! I dont want my front tires robbing the power! And how do i adjust my breaks??
@BOTAJELL5 жыл бұрын
Rc freak 101 I would use the 41031 instead of the 41021!! 41001 is my favorite for Buggy if you have a strong.21 or Modified.21 Engine and 41032 header is best most power for Truggy with Modified engine or strong 💪 engine with 51021/9886 pipe! If you do not race at a race track and only bash and want most power to the ground with your Nitro Buggy or Truggy ? You must do 100,000 to the center diff first then 50,000 to the front and rear diffs !! 👍💥🤝

Wassup Botajell , how do I set my idle gap to 1/2mm ? Also do u not recommend breaking in the motor with 30-11?
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
Get a needle and measure it or grind it to 1/2mm just find or make something . Then depending on what carburetor your using because some carburetors like race carbs have these incerts in them with different size holes 🕳 in them you must remove them then use 1/2mm tool your using to set your idle gap then reinstall it , warm up your engine to 200 degrees Fahrenheit fire it up and only use your low speed to the sound you like to have for your engine to idle them adjust your high to what looks and Sounds good to you at wide open throttle then check to see if any other sounds change after that because sometimes you will have to bring your sound of idle back down after that and do not touch your idle gap use only your low speed needle. I say all this in my video and past videos and I show proof aswell
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use Byron’s 30-11 to break in your new engine but why would you want to waste such great fuel for nothing? It’s a waste of good fuel ⛽️! Use a shity fuel like Traxxas or Bones brew or something real cheap!! Actually don’t use bones because they claim it has now castor oil in it and that’s not true so make sure you use a fuel for your nitro engine that has that oil mixed in with there synthetic oils to break in and even bash afterwards

@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Roy Mariano congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈 you are now my NITRO BRO! and you have a really cool brother!!! Bro I can try to show you this on the RC but not in another week because I am away with family on vacation. It's simple. If your end points are good just do it on the car. You can do the front or back or both with a little Allen key real quick. Just look at your center Diff tower where your brakes are and look at the top and bottom wire or rod that are connected to your brake cams and just adjust the ends in them to your liking so you will need a tiny Allen head to loosen then adjust then tighten it back up! Let me know in a week if you need more help .

so you run a few tanks through first with the wheels in the air then run it on the ground? I have one of those dynamite .28's in my revo and it tends to run hot quick, but also have the same engine in a buggy and it runs great. any insight why that may be? also my neighbors adore me as well.
@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
nachohaxor sometimes new engines spikes in temperature this is normal! Just shut it off and let cool down completely with piston bottom dead center and that will count as 1 heat cycle!! Do for or 5 heat cycles then run it and if temps still spike ? Get a fan and let the fan run next to engine but make sure that the engine does not run cold now!!! It must be over 200 degrees Fahrenheit and try to stay under 250 just for the first quart of break in fuel! Afterwards go with Byron’s 30-11 % and finish break in with that

@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
Luis Rosario bro if you go to 30% Nitro fuel ? You must go with a fuel that has 11% oil in it with a 50/50 blend of Castor oil and synthetic oil! I like the Byrons 30% / 11% Fuel . It's already made for you so there is no need to mix any more Castor oil in it . Just pour and go . I still use a medium plug on my engines. You can run 30/11 on any nitro sized engine small or Big Block

@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
G14 , , So we may not be just yet what I call NITRO Brothers yet but we sure are at the end of the day LOSI Brothers!! Lol!! Good stuff👍! Let me be honest about this! The best way to start kicking ass at the track on day one is with the TLR 4.0 race 🏁 kit hands down!! But it is $$! But this New RTR that was on sale for $350 is just unbelievable from what I have seen in person with durability and good performance! We adjusted the pipe right up against the header and she screams pretty damn good for a RTR .21 ! I would still drop a Novarossi Bonito motor on it or a Mito7 motor or even a Paloma motor!! It is probably the best handling and most durable RTR Buggy and Truggy so far that I ever seen being used right out of the box 📦! The race kits are no questions even better!! That is why my friend Anthony just went from the RTR Truggy to the Race TLR 4.0 8T race kit and now he is satisfied!! Hope that helps? Let me know if you ever need any help with NITROs or Gas ⛽️

@BOTAJELL5 жыл бұрын
Gary Greene congratulations 🍾🎉🎊🎈👍💥🤝💥👊💥 my Nitro Brother! If your going to break in the stock Dynamite.28 ? Don’t worry about it so much because them Engines suck only good in the beginning for a while. My daughters had about 3 gallons threw it and still running ok but soon I will drop a Novarossi in it or maybe a LRP X .32? Just make sure you do a couple of heat cycles threw that engine and bottom dead center. Run 1 quart of 20-16 % Byron’s fuel then switch to 30-11% Byron’s fuel and after the quart off the ground put it on the ground with 30-11 and start leaning out the hi speed until she can move and sound good. Make sure you preheat engine to 200 degrees before starting it in the beginning and always Pre heat it if your going to tune ! Never tune the engine cold. Never raise or lower your idle with idle screw pretend that your low speed needle is the idle only if you know for a fact that your idle gap is a 1/2 mm!

So once i set my carb gap to 1mm I don't have to touch it anymore? So I can tune the hsn and when idle starts to get high just lean the Lsn or richen it to get the idle to drop? Trying not to quit but tuning is the last thing that is giving me trouble
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
TheJman972 NO!!! Idle gap must be at 1/2 mm NOT 1mm!!!! Lean Low to idle if your high is stupid rich ? Bring it to just rich or flush on most carbs and after a few passes and motor has bin warmed up to 200 start leaning the high until your happy with sound 🔊 and smoke 💨. Simple as that! You must use good fuel such as the Byrons 30/11 that I use for this!!! All my NITROs run good idle for long ass time I run tank after tank most of the time!! Old motors and my new motors will perform this way!!

Anyways, doubt I’ll ever take it to a track, just want something to tinker with, but still jump and perform really well too. I think I’m just trying to distract myself from buying another motorcycle 😂 Used to have nitro planes as a kid, but have been all gas for a while. Really want something mostly rtr....was thinking this truggy, or a 5t with a pipe. What do you think?? I’ve also had tons of battery planes and helis...so could really go any direction.

Brandon Durham ? Hard choice bro!!! I like the challenge and RPMs my Nitro’s can do and I love how my 8Ts perform especially my 4.0 8T race kit but my daughters 8ight T is great for newbies for sure but I also live my Losi 5T and especially my Big ass LOSI MTXL!!! But the 8th scale stuff is easier to transport around but the 5th scale stuff is easier to work on but anything thing can be easy once you know what to do. You also need a big car or a truck because I feel that it’s a must when running fith scales. Bro I don’t know what to recommend so I’m just going to say get and do both lol 😂! Because that’s what I do when I think about 2 things at the same time!!! I will help you out with either one or both of them at the same time!!

get a protek engine heater from amain. There $54 dollars they run off of a 3 cell deans
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Dr. Smooth Racing I use Competition HEAT and the hell with the 3cell for me! I do to many motors for that crap so mine is plug to outlet but heat gun is all you need most of the time but head heater is a must for break in Bench! Last week I broke in 3 new NITROs and I did 2 rebuilt NITROs with new Piston and sleeves! I do this shit all the time ! It's what I love and Gas ⛽️ engines also! Soon I will be building my own engine for a Baja 5SC build. Talk soon bro thanks for stopping by!

I'm about to start my truggy to break in that I just bought, why are the wheels moving when it should just be idling?
@cnnlt2004 жыл бұрын
Because the idle is high and no resistance.

Luis Rosario for what engine???
@luisrosario11126 жыл бұрын
BOTAJELL is for this same engine, the .28 Dynimate
@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
Luis Rosario just use the same stock pipe on it but move the pipe close to the header! Make sure they touch each other just like how I did it to my daughters Truggy. Try to look around for a Dynamite 086 pipe because that would be good also . If one day you get a stock Novarossi 28-8 ? Get your self a 41032 Header and a 9853 pipe!! If you ever get a Modified 28-8 from TNS? You will need and must use a 41032 header with a 9886 pipe!!! Remember this because it’s a must!!

Hi again my friend, I was looking for the 086 pipe in all the internet without any result 😭 but I was looking for others options and found one dynamite 053 and a losi RE10 exhaust system. Can you help me to select the best one for me? Thanks Botajell

you only go for RTR ? i think Kits has better parts...?? is it...
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Roy Mariano kits have the Best Parts! I always say get kits and build them! Rtr is for newbies and getting new people to Nitro! I got a RTR Losi 8ight for my daughter as well because I think it's the best and most durable RTR Nitro out there from what I have seen with my own eyes at LI Bash! This video is only about showing people how I Break In NITROs with Pull and Roto starts . Most of the time I Break In new engines on the break in bench .

Awesome video! Really helped me when breaking in my 8ight RTR. Question though. My engine seems real lazy down low, not as responsive as yours. What am I missing? I’ve adjusted the low speed as best I could. 20% fuel btw.
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
I only Run and recommend you use Byron’s 30-11% fuel with a medium heat plug! You want 30% nitro and 11% oil and your oil must be a 50/50 mix of castor/synthetic oils! Once you preheat your engine to 200 degrees Fahrenheit start your engine and do not touch your idle mix screw never or you will have to reset it. Then once it’s running out it on the ground to get it ready to do full throttle runs but if it stalls before that ? Just lean your low speed until it stays running no stalling ! Once it don’t stall just drive it back and forth at full throttle runs and look and listen 👂 to it ! If it sounds like crap and looks sluggish? Start leaning out your high speed little at a time until it’s crisp but don’t over do it ! If it sounds like chubaka or cuts out your to lean. Once you get your high speed dialed in you may have to richen your low speed back down a bit ONLY if your idle sounds high

@@BOTAJELL How did you get it to take off fast like that did you lean the LSN a little
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
Keith Bates I only leaned the low speed to get them to stay idling after I warmed up the engine to 200 degrees Fahrenheit with a heat gun! Once it stays idling running I’ll throw it on the ground and run it full throttle and adjust/lean the high speed until it clears up and starts to sound good ! Once you’re high speed I’d correct your idle may sound high and if that happens? Do not adjust the idle screw!!! Lower the idle by richening the low speed a little until it drops to where the engine sounds good but will still stay and run! Remember ONLY DO ALL THIS WHEN YOUR ENGINE IS WARMED UP TO 200 degrees Fahrenheit

Orion 88 there is no secret because I tell everyone what I have bin doing for years with no problems and I have to take good care of my things because they must be ready at all times to bash hard or compete with Ewords! Don't forget to 3in1 oil inside your engine as after run oil. Anyways this is what I do weekly for years watch everything until the end kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoa4iJmZYtyFha8
