The ohagi look so delicious - おいしそう! I wish I could have magically been there to eat one of the hoagie! I've been cooking Japanese food at home for maybe 4-5 years now, and I've learned that it really helps to know hints like your mom is teaching. If you know things like draining the adzuki bean water after the first boil to remove the impurities, those things can make a huge difference. Your mom is so kind to teach us, and you're all so great to make these videos! Thank you so much. As for the next video, I think Shinichi should get the vote, since he has a favorite. Please have a good weekend! PS I just have to add that I love adzuki bean paste. Now I think I might have to try making my own batch!!!

+zoji rushi both are fine but yes, the newer ones give a more perfect finish to the rice. The kernels turn out more fluffy and perfect every time.

She's so dang cute, and I love listening to her speak Japanese. I can't understand it (only "oishi"), but her voice is so relaxing. :)

Hello I've always wanted to know what these were as I saw them on a Japanese show and now I get to see that and also how to make them. what a bonus!!! Your mum is so lovely wish she could stay in Tokyo and help you both with the cooking. Can we see, if it's OK? When you visit your mum in Hawaii of her cooking foods you use to eat as a child or local foods please ? It's always fantastic to see your mum on your show. I love watching your show always coming up with awesome things to watch. well done guys one of my favorite channel to watch. fantastic Channel !!!!

I love your mom, she is so endearing :-) And the Ohagi looks good, too! Thanks for the video. A+ ETA: I vote for Shoga Yaki because it looks easier to make (no deep frying).
