So, obviously, I love every version that Joni has ever made of this song. I think it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and I love playing it in guitar in that classic Open D tuning that Joni used. But listening to Seal's version makes me think that this song may enter into the great American songbook, along with Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, etc. This could eventually be a jazz staple. I'm blown away. Timeless and beautiful.

Neil Diamond and Frank Sinatra have both recorded versions of "Both Sides Now". Diamond's version is very good. Sinatra's is not, in my opinion. He just rushed through the song.

I immediately bought the song on iTunes after discovering it on KZbin. I have had it on repeat play for half an hour. What an outstanding performance from all, especially Seal. All the dazzle comes from his emotional honesty, not from vocal acrobatics. Well, okay, he also has a great voice, especially on those higher notes that cut through so plaintively. Wow. Wow! Wow.
