Thanks! Really enjoyed it. Such a broad date range of finds at the Manor House. I've had pontilled mallet bottles (broken) coming up in their dozens. Georgian pottery too. I even found a large shard of medieval green glaze pottery right on the hard base clay. Definitely will be back soon. Maybe this week. :)

Hi Mary, you're right - I probably could've. However it wasn't printed or anything, so I decided against it. I have an ever increasing lineup of finds that need some attention, so I've had to prioritise certain items over others. New restoration videos are coming soon. You stay safe too! Willie :)

The wine bottles unmarked would look lovely with twinkle lights inside that run on batteries. They are beautiful in a grouping indoors as well as outdoors.

That's a really good idea! That'll show up their beautiful bubbles, striations etc. I think if you just put them on a shelf, unless you look at them closely, it might just look like you've had a really fun weekend..! :)

Thanks! I try to mix it up a bit with my videos. I don't really want to go down the 'roundup cleaned bit at the end' route, so I tried putting the cleaned up shots and descriptions immediately after I find the items, throughout the videos. I think it works, so I'm pleased you think so too. Glad you're 'digging' the tune too! Thanks for watching. Willie :)

Hello Willie, you sure had a lot to dig up. I would put those tiles in my home, they are gorgeous. They sure we're well made. I liked your two Patterson's Glasgow. But the winner was your cobalt bottle. I thought for sure your crock was whole, but no. If you get doubles of bottles would you be willing to sell one of them? Congrats on number 20. Take care and be safe.
@dirtysecretsofscotland3 жыл бұрын
Hi Debra, yes it was a lot of hard work. I was concentrating on the foot of the slope, where the finds go right back to the early 1800's, but further up it's just ash and many thousands of screw caps. You can dig through them, of course, but it's very time consuming, and you only get about 1 foot of goodies at the bottom, under the modern. I guess I need to get around to doing all of it at some point! I would look at selling some bits, sure! Drop me an email and we can discuss: dirtysecretsofscotland@gmail.com

Weird question but is that cheap sit pad decent? I see them on amazon dirt cheap but wonder if they're worth having hiking or not worth pack space.
@dirtysecretsofscotland3 жыл бұрын
I bought it for winter hiking. It’s worthwhile in the colder months. It’s a lot tougher than I thought it would be. When I’m detecting, I just use the side of a ‘bag for life’ I wore out then cut up. Does a great job, but without the thermal qualities..!

Hey Willie and Sarah, first of all lots of love and hugs from Canada. If I may give you a suggestions about accumulating more viewers, it would be actual act of excavating, good or bad and the anticipation of what it is you are just about to unearth. The anticipation with us as is as strong as it is with you..I don’t want to impose in any way, so if I have stepped over my boundaries, I truly am sorry. 😘
@dirtysecretsofscotland3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dana, thanks for your suggestion. The reason we don't do live reveals on more finds is that it just eats up too much time in the video. We always try to get as many finds in as possible in under 30 minutes. If I make a special find, and I'm pretty sure it's something good - then I'll make a point of showing the full excavation. The brown topped cream pot being an example of this. So, it might be a boring answer I'm afraid, but it really does come down to time and finds rate. However, we really do appreciate your suggestion - thanks for taking the time to make it! All the best, Willie :)
