Think it'd do any good to hose it down with brake cleaner or carb cleaner or would that be even worse somehow? I'm guessing that hole is to vent pressure or maybe any fluid leaks that might build up in that side but it does seem odd to have gasket everywhere else and then just leave that open.

I didn't have any brake/carb cleaner, so I settled for just blowing it out with air and lubing it up with PB Blaster. As you will see in a future video, it was not a crack in the case :) Progress is being made :)
