The reason some KZbinrs sell a large amount of these is cause they typically have a character that represents them (I.e. Mauler, Fringie, and Rags). They then make their characters look visually appealing in plushie form. This makes it so if anyone who isn’t familiar with the channel sees the plush in your room then they can just be like “Oh that’s a cool/cute plush.” That’s why people like Bowblax who just make a plush that looks like them don’t end up selling many. If someone walks into your room and sees that they’d probably just be very confused as to why you have a plush if some random dude sitting in your room.

The only makeship plush I have ever purchased was from a pet and travel blog. The mascot of the channel was getting older and retiring from traveling, so his plushy was him happily resting on the grass. It was beautiful, was meant to aid his vet bills during the last few months of his life, and when the plushy eventually made it to our house, the old boy had sadly passed away, so it doubled as a beautiful memorial piece to one of me and my daughter‘s favorite online doggies. The point I’m trying to make is that funding for these type of plushies take more than just having a general fan base. People shouldn’t buy something from you just because it’s yours. There needs to be more to the story, motivation beyond just having your image on their desk. There needs to be a true connection. Guys like Bowblax don’t seem to understand that.
