Great video and review of the headphones in use. I adored the explanations of your listening experience with the PX8. Do you still own them and are they a go to for you when listening now still?

Hi thanks for leaving a comment! I don't have the PX8 any more sadly. Sold in favour of the focal Bathys which I love even more! The PX8 are great though.

They're not "bringing" premium materials to their established design language, they're just (finally) bringing it BACK, as the lineup actually started with all-premium materials before they suddenly decided to replace it with cheaper build some years back. I still have the original P5 with no plastic parts wherever you look, and definitely no fake leather. What's admirable, though, is how B&W has stayed on the lane of musicality rather than conforming to Harman curve bullshit.

I've got a pair of these sitting at home last couple of days. I'm looking at buying some so my brother borrowed me his. They sound great but I just remembered Andrew Robinson saying battery can't be replaced and will last 2-3 years which putting me off. I'm not like my brother upgrading every couple of years

Excellent review, cheers for that. As a matter of interest, I don’t use headphones out and about, I use them in the house and when sat in the garden. My iPad Pro and my Samsung S21 don’t have headphone sockets so I use a USB-C to headphone adaptor and then connect my wired headphones to this (Sennheiser Momentum). In your opinion, do you get better sound quality doing what I’m doing or via bluetooth headphones such as the Px8 ?
@AudioFixation2 жыл бұрын
Good question. It depends on how good your wired headphones are. I have a pair of OG momentums (actually my daughter has them now) and they sound great but I'd say that the Px8s sound better even with the Bluetooth limitations. However the £299 sundara headphones sound much better than the Px8s but clearly they are open backed and have zero noise cancelling. So I guess it depends on your use case.

@@AudioFixation Excellent thanks for the reply. I suspect these px8 headphones will be better than my old wired ones :)

Congratulations for your review, I found it very useful! Have you had the chance to try the B&W PX 7 S2? If yes, what do you think about them, also in comparison to the PX8? Thank you a lot!

Great video as always. Just a suggestion for a future video/product review: Master & Dynamic just launched the 2nd generation MH40 Wireless retro-design headphones. I really like the look of the headphones but wonder how they perform when it comes to sound quality and long-term wearing comfort... Do check them out if you can!

@@AudioFixation this is exactly the question I'm asking about these headphones. For £600 you don't want to be buying 'disposable' headphones. I'm hoping B & W will say I can send them back for battery replacement when the time comes. If not I'll be giving these a miss!!

I don’t know what’s wrong with me but, I just bought a pair of PX8 and honestly I was very disappointed. Maybe my ears are spoiled/ruined by the last two years of listening to mid tier to high tier IEM’s. I found the PX8 to sound simultaneously cloudy and sibilant, metallic, muddled, and just…weird… … maybe it’s the Bluetooth after so long of listening to wired
@AudioFixation Жыл бұрын
for sure, bluetooth can't hold a candle to hi-end iems!

You need to break them in with a good few hours of music. They use a carbon driver which is quite stiff out of the box.
@r.k.50312 ай бұрын
Eh, they're basically Sonys in a nicer package. Go in with that expectation and you won't be disappointed. Don't buy them for HiFi sound tho, most mid range wired sets with a decent budget amp absolutely murder them.

Do not trust the reviewer for the Bowers & Wikins PX8 Headphone , i am andrew form singapore bought at Jaben singapore store. Bought after listening to many horrible not real & honest review from all this reviewer on 19/09/2023. The Sound quality is lousy ,the bass Frequency is boomy( not clean ), The mid-range is hold back , The high Frequency is bleeding bright. Noise cancelation😢 is totally rubbish product can even hear a standing wind noise from a fan . Do not believe them if not you regret for life after buying it

I purchased the PX7S2 which accompanied me for a four weeks journey in Greece recently. I have now ordered another one for my wife. I assume PX8 will not have a worse sound quality.
