Bowers & Wilkins C5 In-Ear Headphones Brings Premium Sound Quality With A Unique Look
Bowers & Wilkins brings the C5 In-Ear headphones to the market to capture the mobile market where the portability and lightweight of in-ear headphones is popular for the mobile on-the-go user. The C5's bring high quality sound with a unique design. When I first looked at the C5's I really like the way the ear buds look. A unique shape that differs from the rest of the competition and much more secure way of keeping them in your ear, which can be a big problem with a lot of in-ear headphones. You put them in your ear then slide the wire up until it sits comfortable in your ear. While this does work well I would tell you that after long period of usage it can start to pinch your ears. As far as the cable wire it's not the most tangle free and I'm not a big fan of the color of it. It honestly looks like a cheap cable instead of a premium product at the $179 MSRP price tag this is at. It does come with media playback controls that work for iOS devices like iPod, iPad, and iPhone and has limited functionality with Android and Windows Phone devices. From a design standpoint the C5 are good but that's only half of the battle. It's all about the sound.
Sound quality with the C5's are excellent. I used a Samsung Galaxy S III and Google Play Music to do the test and made sure the EQ setting were proper for each type of music I was listening to which is key for any good listening experience. The low, mids and high comes off clear and crisp. The bass level is proper and not too much over base which is key when listening to Hip-Hop, Techno, Dance and Electronica. Rock music sounds good but not as distinct with each instrument as I would prefer but I'm a bit more picky about that then others are.
Of course your hearing levels will determine how good anything will sound but I believe most won't be disappointment with the Bowers & Wilkins C5 In-Ear headphones. Be sure to check out our video review for more info and demo.
