Hi Sahil! My Open WP expires on November 7th 2024 and I want to apply for BOWP now. My questions are - 1. I got medicals done before coming to canada (july 2022). And I used the same to submit my PR documents too. Now do I need to get another medicals done here in Canada ? ( i did not travel out of Canada in these 2 years) 2. Can I travel while this BOWP and PR applications are still in progress? (I am currently working) Thankyou!

Hi, Thanks for the video and sorry about the long post! I`m the dependent and my wife (student) is holding a PGWP, but she still doesn`t have a full-time job and still working Part-time. However, I got the ITA (EE) from the job category I currently work and submitted the PR application yesterday. Since my visa is about to expire by the end of this March, I was going to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit. Because, we`ve seen some posts and thought that applying for a SOWP extension with my wife`s part-time is a risk. And now I`m in the process of applying for the Bridging Open Work Permit and when I go through the IRCC questionnaire, there`s a section asking that "Are you a spouse,.........of a person holds a work permit or is applying for a work permit" Do you know that, it is okay to put "No" here even though my wife holds a PGWP? Because, If I put "Yes" here, I won`t be asked for the questionnaire related to the Bridging Open Work Permit. Please let me know if you have any idea about this?

Just one doubt. Suppose I have a work permit and working full time in Canada, and I have filed a complete application for PR. I have also applied for BOWP timely. Can I continue to work while application for BOWP is pending with IRCC, or I have to stop working till they approve it.

You can continue working it is called implied status.

Concurrently the company for which I work for had applied for Closed work permit extension in August 2023 ,however i have not received any decision .Can i leave the country and enter back . Thank you so much for the video, but i have a question to ask so let me start from the beginning. I'm from Goa,India and currently hold a Portuguese nationality. i came to Canada on a Work holiday visa program for 2 years. when I arrived in Vancouver BC I thought I'm gonna get the 2 years open work permit as I was fulfilling the requirements but was given only 1 years open work permit. I'm working in a restaurant and my question is can I extend my open work permit with the same steps shown by you or do I have different ways? or do i need to get the LOMA from the employee? please suggest. Below is my case details, i have a closed work permit based on lmia. I have been nominated under AINP last month. With whole family. My wife has an open work permit. I have sent my file federal PR file this month but file number has not been issued. My existing work permit will going to expire in 3 months. Now my query is, 1. when should I apply for renewal of my work permit? 2. On canadian website it's mentioned if you want to apply for Bridge open work permit u need a file number. Which I don't have yet. Please advise what to do and will I be getting open work permit.??

No. Its only for people who got nomination from IRCC and waiting for their PR

Hi Sahil.. Could you please let me know the current realistic waiting period for someone who has applied for extension of their expired closed work permit. IRCC shows 166 days, but are you aware of the timeline of any folks who recently got the result. if it way beyond or lesser. I am currently at 140 days post submission of extention request. Also, could you please let me know the timeframe it takes to apply via another firm an Open work permit if it is an LMIA Exempt one.
