The last year year-and-a-half I've started I really seen you step your game up the amount of detail on your layout truly amazing you definitely keep me motivated to keep going. Makes me want to step my game up to professional level . You definitely do great work and that engine man that thing is just wow.

I like when manufacturers add instructions on how to handle your locomotive on my intermountain cab forward it tells you how to pick up the engine and I'm thankful for that

I have two Bowser engines - one of which is the Pennsy T-1 - and I've never been disappointed in them. They are built just as good if not better than Athearn.

What a beautiful engine. The detailing on it is outstanding.

That’s a really great looking and sounding loco. I do like the Alcos too. I don’t have any Bowser locos. I may have to take a look at them. Thanks for sharing buddy 👍😃

SMT - Yes, it fits in well with the area of town you modelled as a 1960s era city. The Alco Century models did debut in the 1960s; the train includes a caboose & containers carried on a conventional flat car! The paint scheme fits in as well. Since you like 6 axle diesels ( C-C wheel arrangement ) it was a good idea to rebuild your trackage with 22 inch radius curves!

DCC always looked to complicated for me but maybe someday I will get a dcc starter set. Great video SMT.

That lights-on-on-forward thing is called 'directional lighting' it's a model thing and not a prototype thing. In actuality, real locomotives keep the headlights and number boards on all the time, you just can't see it in the daytime. On our models though, you see the light's when they're on regardless of day or night. Look in the Bowser manual, it should tell you witch CV will change it to continuous lighting. Then pressing FO (function 0) will toggle it on and off.

Beautiful engine. These things were monsters in their day. I saw them running in the pacman scheme in Maine in the 1980s.

I’ve recently got a bowser sd40-2f in cp rail paint scheme and I’ve got to say, bowser does a great job with these engines. Would definitely recommend to someone who want an engine with great sound a performance. Great review 👍

Skylite,Back when most equipment came as kits Browser was a leader in locomotive kits, their articulated Challenger was very popular but all of their kits were.Other companies such as Varney and Athearn all made kits, then there were also companies that supplied materials for those who chose to build from Blue prints and model railroad magazine's included how to articles on about every aspect of model railroading!

Function 6 on your locomotive is something called the dynamic breaks (its that humming sound). This can be turned on and off.

I have to ask can you do a video of how you use that DCC controller how do you program engines and what not? because I have one too and I'm soon gonna get my own layout an HO Scale Grand Valley layout from Woodland Scenics I was wondering if you could do a tutorial of how to use that DCC controller of Yours?

You should try it with an esu loksound decoder and the Alco 251 prime mover and air starting. I recently installed a Bowser esu retrofit kit in mine... Awesome Brütal. 😌

When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was the grey SD40-2 from Unstoppable. Well I was wrong. Anyways, great video except for the sound quality. it was too low, so I turned up my volume, only to be bombarded with an extremely loud voice clip about you saying "liability". But this still is a great video overall, you just need to improve the quality of the sound. By the way, I loved that Nintendo joke at the beginning.

Very nice, Get your book out for your new controller and look up how to change the cv values and you should be able to change the volume on it and make it louder.

So smt mainline I'm starting a ho scale layout and I want to know where I can get cheap but well running diesel locomotives. Please reply :D
@TRRailfan4 жыл бұрын
Either they’re not cheap and run great or they’re cheap and don’t run the best. To get a cheap good runner you have to get lucky. Or be like SMT, buy some cheap used locos then fix them up.

I have stewart F3's, from my understanding stewart hobbies is closely related to bowser trains, I just wish that they would change their name to "Mowser" due to their proximity to Kitty Island (At least their HQ) and they run like tanks.
