I appreciate the way you show the project before starting on it. So many other channels start working on something and I don't even know if i have any interest in making it, because I don't know what it looks like until the very end. And then you only see it for a few seconds before the "next video" selections pop on the screen. Thank you ! This is a cute bag.

I would like to make one for my grandson to hold his chess pieces. His Dad said to make one approx A5 size which is approx 6 inch wide x 8.25 inch high. What would be the measurements I would need to cut my fabrics?

If i make the bag larger, do I also need to increase the bottom area it stands on (the 1 1/2 cut outs)?
@RobynsLoveofSewing Жыл бұрын
Hi @sueraherimanjato6935 , Yes I would make it larger too. I kind of guesstimate for my boxed corners. On this bag I cut 1.5" squares out of bottom to create approximately a 3" box side. So if you want a 6" box side I would cut out a 3" square. Basically you would cut out a square half the finished size you want. It's not perfect but close enough for me. There is an algebra formula for it I will link here for you sew4home.com/how-to-box-corners-two- methods-with-formulas/. Hope this helps. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! 🤗💗

I have a question. Is there a rule of thumb to know how much to cut out of the bottom of the fabric to get the right size square bottom. Here you showed one inch square. If a person makes a different size bag. I am curious. How do you know how much to cut out to make that perfect square bottom. BTW. Such a cute idea.

Hello Janvarif, I am working on making a video to explain how to do that. What kind of sewing machine do you have? I can show you how to thread my machine, but it may not be exactly how you would thread your machine, each machine threads a little differently but I can give you the basics if that will help you. Thank you so much for watching my videos. 🤗💗
