Hello from France. Can you tell us in centimeters please. ? Many thanks
@ChristinesCrafts Жыл бұрын
Hi, really sorry. I did answer your earlier question but for some reason my reply vanished! Anyway, here goes: The fabric pieces are 18cm by 23cm. The box bottom seams are sewn 2.5cm from the end of each point. The drawstring fabric is cut 2.5cm wide and ends up with a drawstring that is 0.6cm wide. The casing is sewn 4cm down from the top and I left my casing 1cm wide. When I measured my drawstrings outside the bag I allowed 15cm on either side. I hope that these help.
@SharonBell6123 Жыл бұрын
I love this, but I do have two questions! I’m two places: 1) where the boxed bottom extra fabric was cut off at the corners … And 2) where the side seam was unpicked for the drawstring casings… With use, isn’t that going to cause the seams to unravel??? In the first one, the seam stitching was actually cut right through. I’m sorry I can’t seem to get it into my head how these areas won’t come apart! Help!
@ChristinesCrafts Жыл бұрын
@@SharonBell6123 Where you are opening seams or cutting off excess fabric your seam has been over sewn by another seam. This should hold it in place. If you are worried make sure the seam that you over sew with is strong (maybe reverse) so that it will definitely hold. Having said that I have not had any problems and I also use boxed bottoms on big bags that get a lot of hard use. I hope this helps.

Love this channel and your tutorial on how to make a lined bag was perfect! Some videos are too detailed and some aren’t enough and yours is just right 🤗. I’m pretty new at sewing and I was able to follow along perfectly! I made a lined crinkle bag for my baby and he loves it. He carries it around the house. 😂. I was having trouble sewing the top seam once I had it all together because I also had that middle layer of crinkle in there so I just left it without and it seems to be okay for what I’m using it for. I was planning to slip some elastic in where you put the drawstring but I didn’t try it yet because I broke the needle when I tried to go across the top when it was all put together. Anyway, so great!! Thank you!!!!

Very easy to follow. My bag turned out beautiful. I am excited that it will add to the presentation of the shower gift I'm giving. Thank you for shared skill. Helen
