Great video I have replaced the oil with butter for years and added an extra egg, but I go a step farther and add a small box of vanilla pudding mix, right into the batter. It makes it even more rich and so MOIST. I add a couple of teaspoons of corn starch to my home made cookies because it makes them so moist. Great video Angelica, your the best. Blessings from Aledo Texas!

I like the trick if using the butter wrappers. Another trick I use to make white cake taste like bakery cakes is to use about 1/4 tsp. of almond extract in the batter. Once the cake is baked and cooled, I wrap it in plastic wrap and seal it well. Then place it in the freezer, usually over night so it is frozen solid. Take it out the next day and thaw it, but not quite completely. Then I either make my buttercream icing from scratch or I buy icing from the bakery at my local grocery store or buy Wilton white buttercream icing in a plastic tub. Ice the cool cake. Keeping the cake cold keeps it from having so many crumbs. Tastes like a bakery cake.

I actually tried your white cake method yesterday and OH, MY, GOD !!! This cake tasted just like a bakery baked white cake. I am DEFINITELY adding this method to my cake recipe collection...!!!!!!

I’ve actually been cooking my cakes on abt 330 degrees lately, and I think they come out so much better. I also like to rotate the pan halfway through to keep cooking as even as possible.
@kateslippers82894 жыл бұрын
The lower temperature sounds interesting. Not had any temp issues but I am going to try it.
@joanbelmont54502 жыл бұрын
Exactly, you must rotate the pan otherwise you will have darker spots like this cake.

Also for the frosting, I like to take a cup of whipping cream and whip it till thick and then fold it into the store made frosting. It helps to cut down on sweetness and tastes more home made.

I was always told to decrease the baking temp by 25 degrees when baking in glass, glass heats quicker and holds the heat longer, so as your cake is cooling in the pan the cake is actually still baking.

I think I'll do this with German chocolate cake and make my own coconut pecan frosting with walnuts. I use extra coconut to make it look and taste better. It's one of my specialties. This is a great hack. I need to use up a few eggs and this will do the trick. I absolutely hate canned frosting. I know kids don't care as long as it's sweet. Thanks for the hack. I don't turn my 9x13 cakes out. I just leave them in the pan. If I take them elsewhere I just bake them in a disposable aluminum pan with a lid. Then I can just leave the leftovers.

I love your channel and your voice. I find that a lot of women (maybe because I am a woman too) their voices irritate me and I just cannot tolerate them. Years ago, i had a nervous breakdown and as therapy i was given tapes to listen to. The women's voices would get me very agitated and i would take the tapes out and throw them. My Dr. said it was a pretty common reaction. It has been over 50 years now so i am pretty picky of who I can listen too. You are very comforting...thank you so much for you. God bless you and your family.
