Coach Trevor Wittman shares a valuable partner drill for improving head movement, angles, & footwork for getting inside range in boxing. I can't help but call this the zombie or mummy drill! Practice moving forward, backwards, and even rotating side-to-side to create or close off the distance in a fight.

great timing on posting this video. i only just started sparring 2 weeks ago after starting training about six months back (45 years old yeah yeah late starter lol) . i have had a lot of trouble getting in close to enguage without getting picked off on the way in. foot work, balance and knowledge ie everything important are the things i am struggling with the most. its frustrating but i try to keep in mind that there is no easy way to learn any of it. i am loving it though :-)

If you don't have to punch somebody that's always the way to go, but getting some training always helps. If you're afraid to get laughed at, make the punch count, they can't laugh when they hit the deck, but if possible never fight outside sport. Just do some basic training with punches, don't go for power when training, go for hip movement, reach, and arm movement. It will help your confidence in and outside of fighting.
@dragonrider2001
@dragonrider2001 8 жыл бұрын
Hey man if you want to build confidence then just go to your local gym and try it out nothing bad will happen and if you don't like hitting then try ju jitsu of judo because they are good ways to build confidence. And yea try to stay out of punching someone on the street or at school because it's not worth the consequences
