Try moving your head to the side the width of a fist as you throw the jab sometimes, rotating and extending your jab in the process. What's a recommended wieght to start with. Like still where I can throw fast punches or where my punches are quite a bit slower. Like 1 to 2 pounds or 5 pounds
@ryankabcenel97004 жыл бұрын
It's amazing people will heed advice from a complete stranger with no credentials, and will believe anything. Shadow boxing with weights is terrible for you and will slow you down. The most you should use is ONE pound to simulate gloves, or better yet just wear gloves. All it will do is help to condition your shoulders and keep your hands up. Studies have been done to prove this. You feel like you're getting faster, but you're getting slower
@gokublack56204 жыл бұрын
@@ryankabcenel9700 yeah I looked into it and this is bullshit. However, the problem mainly is the internal rotation on the shoulder and that is from the uneven wieght. Shadowboxing in water however is a great tool at this

@awesomeawesomesauce8 жыл бұрын
Love your vids, man. They're usually very good for introducing beginners but with just enough depth to be good reminders for people that have been practicing for years. Hell, I learn so much from these. How do you get rid of reflexes from one combat sport to transition to another? Whenever I spar or do mittwork, I always duck and weave the moment I feel a little fatigued or threatened by a strike. This has gotten me scolded over and over in muay thai. I can't seem to stop it. Trainer says block and strikes slowly, I block, Trainer sneaks a quick kick to get me to block to test out the new blocking technique and I duck and weave in close to get a body shot from different angles instead.
