I've never felt so bad for a fighter as I did for Larry Holmes. Mike Tyson in his prime is motivated to hurt him beyond the money 😢

Holmes' destruction was predicted and well-deserved. He talked too much shit for way too long.

Years later, I'm still trying to find the "villainy" in Holmes. I get that Tyson was motivated and did in fact destroy Larry in their fight. I actually watched that live and cheered him on. Holmes was propped up by the Media as unbeatable in the early 1980's... until Michael Spinks won a couple strange bouts on him. So the dislike for Holmes from everyday people was felt... (also because he defeated the nation's hero, Ali was already at the end of his career). I find the whole situation kind of strange now. Holmes has had an awesome career.... It truly was amazing even how he continued years later. A boxer/jabber style with a puncher's power. Unique. It was suggested, that Tyson who did beat Holmes, would have lost to George Foreman... but ... Holmes, could beat Foreman (if they had fought) based on their styles matching against each other. Kind of strange but maybe true. Holmes record speaks volumes: 69 - 6 with 44 of the 69 wins by knockout. Ali's record: 56-5 with 37 knockouts Tyson 50-6 with 44 knockouts Foreman was 76-5 with 68 knockouts All of them winners for sure. But I found this entire story with Holmes / Ali then Tyson / Holmes fascinating. Holmes was Ali's sparring partner for years as he learned the fight game. Trying to figure out the animosity from Ali to Holmes... He practically, trained Larry in an off hand way. If anyone was a true villain in all of this... It was Don King who liked to create drama where there was nothing. Ali felt he had to fight because he was nearly broke (money wise) from... Don King's pinching it all. So he put himself at risk. Had it been anyone other than Larry for the tittle that night... would that person have been in the villain's chair?

Bullshit foreman came out and said he would have not wanted anything to do with tyson. He's a nightmare and you wake up saying shit that was a dream not reality. Sweating thinking good lord that nightmare is what everyone before and after fighting mike has for life and I don't want anything with it

Parkinson's Disease is degenerative. The only thing you can control to some extent is how fast the degeneration is using medication. Hits to the head did no favors for Ali's brain function and likely accelerated his symptoms but Parkinson's was likely inevitable for him as it is for so many others who don't box.

11:24- "Do It for me" and that's all Tyson needed to hear. And yeah, screw him. You don't get credit from me by being the biggest snake in the room.

Fighting is just reacting to other people's movements and using their off balance to your advantage it's not that hard

Those three years Ali didn’t box because his title and boxing license was stripped from him he didn’t train or lift or run etc so when he came back he didn’t have the ability to dance like he use to that made it easy for Frazier to get at him in there first fight if Ali keeps his ability to dance and his speed he doesn’t take as many hits like he did he probably goes 3-0 against Frazier

Hi Milo, could you please add "Ron Lyle Documentary - The Wild Ride Of a Heavyweight Slugger" to your request list ? Ron was a very tough man, one of my all time favorites. He is the man who beat Shavers in that long slugfest, and he almost knocked out prime George Foreman. He has a great life story too. If you see this, please respond, so that I will stop reposting this.

I didn’t know that Larry Holmes went to Penn St.. All of these years I thought he didn’t go to college.. I do remember him saying that he wanted to play football for the Dallas Cowboys so maybe so..

I don’t know 🤷🏾 how anyone thinks that Tyson got revenge for Ali by beating Holmes. Ali paid a very serious price for fighting Holmes when he was already very sick 🤢
