A second-grade boy had to call 911 for help after he was left alone at his school for hours after everyone else left for the day.

@TiBunCosplay5 жыл бұрын
@@awl1116 That's only for adults. for young kids it doesn't matter how long the kid had been missing. the cops hear "missing child" and they spring into action. The mother was probably searching for her son in his usual places and calling the parents of his friends and classmates to see if he's with them before involving the police and her smart son ended up alerting authorities himself before she got to that point herself. One time as a kid I accidently got on the wrong bus so my mom didnt see me get off my bus and she began to do just that. Luckily the driver of the bus i was on ended up noticing me as not one of his normal kids and had the school contact my mom to go pick me up at the bus garage.

Actually it does not have to be 24 hours for an adult or child this is a common misconception that leads to valuable time lost in a missing person case. There is no law or stipulation that states you HAVE to WAIT 24hrs.

There was one time that my cousin and I have to stay late in school because there was a misunderstanding as to who will pick us up, her dad or my dad because they have schedule and changes depending with their work time. Almost every staff that comes across us always ask if we're gonna get fetched and want to use their phones to text our parents. Almost everyone was left except for the guards and janitors who were happy to talk to us until we get fetched. They reassure us that they stay late too and we might get fetched before they leave.

@GenericName0076 жыл бұрын
Lets see if the kid was supposedly in detention some adult at some point put him in that room. This wasn't a procedural flaw, you don't leave a kid that young unsupervised. You telling me their policy is to give a kid this age detention then just leave him alone in the room by himself for the entire detention b/c that alone is a problem. I can't see any other way you leave for the day and not notice him. If he was being supervised as he should have been, then obviously it wouldn't be possible for the person supervising detention to leave and not know a kid is there. Also story doesn't really say but did the mom not call 911? In what world does a school keep your child in detention late into the evening? If time rolls around when I know the school is closed and I call the school and get no answer and my kids is still not home, seems like that's the time where you're calling 911 and going up to the school to see what's going on.

at my school of hear some of the teachers don't leave until at least 8pm, but most leave at 4pm (if they have students in detention or whatever they leave a little while after 4pm because in winter it gets dark at 5pm) (btw students are usually all out of the school by 5pm) and the custodian and maintenance workers don't leave until they've locked up and finished everything they're working on. And no accidents have ever happened like students being left in school hours after dismissal, but students being dropped off at the wrong stops (because they've forgotten where they're supposed to get off or they go to their frens house without telling their mom or dad) has happened no biggy

A better plan, instead of checking every corner of the school, have each teacher have a running total of students in the class, checking them in and out individually as they get in and leave for the day, and have them regularly count throughout the day, be able to swap the kids into different rooms or the office if they happen to go there to show whos responsible for them at any given moment.
