So he assaulted an ex girlfriend, got locked up, assaulted a woman biking, hopefully got locked up, got out again, and finally he assaulted and murdered a 15 year old little girl, and was STILL only sentenced to 5 years and then changed to 12 later? 2 women and a girl were violently assaulted and 1 of them was murdered because they let this animal out every. single. time... Could you imagine if a man stabbed 2 people on 2 seperate ocassions, and then got out of jail only to stab and then kill another person? 1st and foremost, they would've been put away for a long time after the first stabbing! The second? Oh, they would be in jail forever! And to get out only to KILL someone?? Life in prison or death penalty, at least in the US. That's the kind of punishment these sex offenders deserve, I actually think it's WORSE to do that to someone than it is to just physically hurt them. I mean, damn, beating someone up can get you charged with ATTEMPTED MURDER and that's a lot of jail time! but sexual assault gets super light sentences comparatively, even though I know for a FACT every one, men and women both, would rather be beat up than be sexually assaulted. Yet the punishment is the opposite. Make it make sense.🤦♀️
@derpymule79778 ай бұрын
These comments always confuse me, because honestly, do you understand how long 5 years is? And 12 is even worse. Are you really going to tell me that you’d live through imprisonment for what is probably, at that point, a quarter to a third of your life and immediately risk going back? Plus, are you really going to tell me you’re the same sort of person at ages, say, 24 and 36, especially after going through something like prisoner rehabilitation? I know we see all the stories about reoffenders, trust me I watch the videos too, but that’s a tiny, tiny minority. After 10 or so years of imprisonment the chances of someone being released and reoffending are pretty much the same as the chances of any given member of the public without a criminal record committing an offence. And yes, that applies to all crimes. The only reason to hold anyone at all longer than 10-20 years, unless they truly show no remorse whatsoever, is to make the victims feel better. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t think that’s a good enough reason to completely destroy someone’s life.

If you drink sea water from the beginning, before you start to become dehydrated, you can survive just fine by drinking it. Your body is perfectly capable of filtering salt out of the water, people ingest salty foods all the time, it doesn’t make a difference whether it’s in your food or water. The fatal consequence of drinking salt water comes when you’re dehydrated. Your kidneys are already overwhelmed by the salt levels and adding salt water will cause your kidneys to shut down completely. Preventing dehydration in the first place is more important than only drinking limited supplies of fresh water. Numerous experiments have shown that drinking salt water right away can be the one thing to keep you alive.

12 years? That's not enough time. I'd be pissed if I was that girl's family. The guy had numerous assault convictions. What the hell, Netherlands?
@nickd19305 ай бұрын
The justice system there and in that area of Europe is insanely soft. 20 years is seen as a huge sentence there so there are cases which are as bad as bad could be where the criminal receives a 15 to 20 year sentence and in their minds, that's a large and punishing sentence. When in reality, for the crimes they committed, it's not even close.

There should be a film about Narcisse such a fascinating story.

One time my little sister got stranded in the shed for a day and a half when her boots got caught on the hook that holds the cord that starts the lawnmower. Pawpaw says the next time she goes missing we’re gonna start looking for her sooner.

that last one is beyond sad, it's tragic.

Sad in deed... Andy really did tried to get justice for his sister, and it took a huge toll on him...Poor guy. Narcisse was already acepted into the tribe and that was his family, he was basically dragged away to a world, by that time, strange to him...

Regardless of the Dutch legal system, that sentence of just 12 years for Jos is far too lenient.

Parents and teachers be honest now, there's that one kid you'd leave behind on a desert island if you got the chance.

jesus christ, THIS was the comment for you after hearing both these tragic stories? hopefully you did this for the lulz and don't actually work with/have children. kids aren't stupid; they can tell when you don't like them and the impact is felt for years. yeesh

Damn, that was some serious devotion in the first story. Andy’s gamble paid off, but it so easily could have gone against him. I’m glad police figured out he was innocent. The second story is sad in its way, too. Both of these men lost their families and homes.

It’s wonderful that the tribe who found him treated him much better than if the situation had been reversed and a tribesman was found washed ashore in Europe. Of course, the tragedy is that he was found and no one seemed to consider trying to find out what Narcisse/Anglo actually wanted. And language barrier is not really an excuse, it would not be hard to understand through gestures etc if the sailors had only not ran with their assumptions that he had to be a captive. They could not have even formulated the concept that he might willingly choose to stay. So sad he was too scared to refuse.

I think you can also cover the cave city incident with Floyid Collins if you haven't already. I believe its about a guy who was stuck in a cave under some rubble for 2 weeks or something. Its a story with a lot of twists and turns as far as I know.

Convicted of assaulting Nicole but not killing her? What an idiotic jury. Glad that the charge could be reinstated. He clearly killed that poor woman and dumped the body.
@suz8108 ай бұрын
We don't have a jury system in the Netherlands. We have judges who convict and sentes. The reason why Jos wasn't sentes for murder is because there wasn't any evidence sadly that he murdered her. Ofcours he did, we al know it, even de judge. But whithout the right evidence the judge couldn't convict him for it.
@jeremywp1238 ай бұрын
But it doesn't make sense to convict him for assault then, cause he either did it or didn't. It's strange to half convict someone because you're only half sure he did it.
@Vextrove8 ай бұрын
What do you mean idiotic? You can't judge someone guilty without evidence. Innocent until proven guilty!
@jeremywp1238 ай бұрын
@@Vextrove but they did judge him guilty...
@suz8108 ай бұрын
@@jeremywp123 They judge jos for the crime they had the evidence for, whit was the sa. They didn't have enough prove of the murder. Those are two different crimes and even though they are beeing judge at the same time, they are still two different crimes, with two different outcome, (I am talking about the first court case).
