I don’t believe that the national scouting community is accepting girls as youth in scouting. Many of scouters believe that the allowing girls as youth was trend in scouting to be social engineered to accept girls. The reality is lost of LDS scouting program made large financial loss to scouting and the only way to recover the loss was to open scouting to girls. I was adult scouting leader for 27 years I have seen the impact of what BSA allowing girl youth into scouting.

Scar as a recent Eagle Scout I agree that some troops have lost there way in having strong drills and having order. When I crossed over into my troop the back in 2016 we had strict drills. I aged out of the BSA like a year ago but I still am apart of OA and the Venture Crew. I came back to do an Ordeal Election it was like the troop had lost its way. Although when I looked over to the girl troop who also had there meetings in the same place it was like they had gone back to the past and had those strict drills. All I will say is that BSA is in a time of need and we need strong leaders who will come and volunteer for troops who were apart of the program and want to see it thrive.

Wonderful. Glad to see a combined service. It’s been awhile since I last checked, but does this new form of Scouts still retain a requirement to be a member of a religion? When I was growing up, there was no Boy Scouts, and I could not join if there was a troop, as I was questioning the idea of faith. I decided early in my teens that since I do not live in a theocracy, I would follow no religion, and find the answer when I personally fade to black, barring any encounters with burning bushes with booming voices, or the like. If that faith requirement still stands, there’s some distance to travel…
