There’s many reasons. Part of their job is to help keep the peace and all that. Ppl still can need help with out wanting to press charges.

its not always about getting someone arrested.. sometimes people call the police cause police presence can get whoever is freaking out and being violent to stop freaking out and being violent. just because he called the police doesnt mean he wants her in jail... he just wants her to stop hitting him, breaking his property, and just causing a scene. i can understand why someone would do that.
