Loved the WHL, I started doing tractors up there in 83…. Still stream heat as well. Great films these, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the great comment Howard, and really glad you’re enjoying the collection. I too spent a lots of time up on the WHL and FNL chasing 37s during to eighties. I wonder whether we ever met and shared some gen?

Only one freight train around Fort Bill nowadays and that's under threat. Great to see this. I first went there in 1988 and been most years since

Thank you for your comments Leylandlad. I haven't been up to Fort William since 1990 so I imagine it's changed a lot. I remember camping at Tyndrum in 1987. The camp site was located between the Oban and FW lines. I lay there all night listening to the sound of 37 hauled freight trains! You could hear them coming and going for miles!! Didn't get much sleep, and the midges were a nightmare, but still wonderful memories.

The 27 was struggling to get away from Dundee. Some great stuff here, real gems from a great period in Scotland.

Probably playing to the camera, normally storm out of there!

Fort William is just the kind of place where there are long gaps between trains, so they do a spot of shunting between trains just to pass the time. I bet that's what they do.

great view of the old Murryfiels stadium at 18:45, Just the East Stand. A far cry from what it is now

Great video as always, can you possibly advise what equipment you used to transfer from VHS to computer as I am looking to purchase this week, many video's to share! Many thanks, Mike

Really glad you’re enjoying the collection WW. I was very fortunate that Alan had all of his VHS recordings professionally converted to DVD format. He sent me three disks from which I was able to extract and break down the digital versions for KZbin. I have found it much harder converting directly from tape. I’m currently trying to convert some old mini DVT tapes that I recorded, with mixed results. I did get some success with Nero, but so far the best results have been using Pinnacle 20, the video editing software I use.

@@kartwheelkarl Many thanks for getting back to me, I have copied all my VHS video's on to DVD using a DVD hard drive recorder so just a matter of copying from DVD to Computer (Mac) if that's easier.
