I feel terrible for Theater Karen's son. When he tried to pull her away, she went AT him, yelling at him. He is probably always humiliated everywhere they go.
@uked2127Ай бұрын
Honestly same. I felt bad for him. When I turned 11 my dad took me to the movies. We stopped to get candy bars to take in. I'm not even sure what happened, some minor stop sign whose turn drama, but our windows were down and so were the other driver's. He yelled something at my dad, that I didn't even hear, but my dad turned around followed him to a gas station, got out and confronted him yelling while I'm crying and begging him to just get back in the car. I don't even remember what movie we saw. That is what I remember about spending that birthday with him. You carry shit like that into adulthood and it becomes the memories you have. Parents really need to consider what they want their kids to remember when they think about them.

@@uked2127when I worked as a hostess, there was a girl that came in regularly with her mom and brother. She was a grade above me and we knew each other vaguely from choir. One day, I sat them at a table, and the mom snapped and said “well I wanted a booth.” So I apologized and moved them. While we walked, the mom said “can you believe her? A TABLE?” And the daughter said “you were mumbling into your phone. She didn’t hear you.” She hunted me down at school the next Monday and apologized PROFUSELY. Still: due to issues with my ex, I became extremely careful about not just my likeness in any form being shared but also my child’s. My social media were locked down, as well as my child’s. And with reason: my ex’s crowd harassed me for years and even a picture of me holding a glass filled with sparkling apple juice would be interpreted as me slugging champagne like there was no tomorrow. Caught on camera congratulating a man for his birthday (where I live air kisses on the cheek are customary), the dude’s wife just out of frame and looking on with a smile? Word would be out I’d be ****ing his brains out. “Caught” on a night out (treated by a female friend or a family member for the first time in months? I'd be accused of living it up with my ex's money…which he didn't have, I'd been supporting him for months before the relationship ended, etc If people don't want to be on camera, they may have legitimate reasons. It may be job related. It may be due to past trauma. It may be due to personal matters. Or it may be because they just don't feel like it and that's okay too. So sick of everyone always frothing at the mouth to bring up race in anything.

You'd be surprised how often race does factor into the situation. Especially with old white men. She was wrong to be filming while driving. I get that. But, if he did chase her he was exercising a sense of entitlement of his own. It may not have been feeling superior about his race, as often it can also be about age or gender (in fact, it's that alot.) @@smfarrie2943 So what we're not gonna do is paint the black woman as the primary aggressor based on what we're IMAGINING happened. No telling what happened before the cameras started rolling? Then no judging without that information. She wanted to verify that they WERE in the wrong seats to begin with, which is why she asked her kid for his ticket and checked the seat while the karen was berating her. They also had a lot of concessions in their seats; Mom can't carry all of it and kid looks young enough that it'd take a minute to let him grab his stuff. REGARDLESS of any of that, the karen is STILL the one who PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED someone over a movie theater seat. There are SEVERAL things she could have done to resolve the situation without resorting to physical violence.
