I never doubted your ability. I started cutting my own hair about 20 years ago. Seemed that every time that I got a hair, cut I would come home and have to "fix" it. So I just tried it myself and I like it much more and I don't waste money.

I love it! My hair is a little more curly than yours, I used to keep it trimmed my self with no problems. I would go maybe once a year to have the back layers tended to because it was really thicker. But now after many years of shoulder problems it is hard to do. I hate going to the salon, it's hard to find someone who really cuts curly hair with 'your' knowledge. Lol

I have really thick curly mop is how I'd describe it. Thought it would be a great idea to use thinning scissors on it. Let's put it this way. Ah Nah never again. Also I have fuzzy dry bits on the top which drive my crazy as hell. Shit doesn't sound good at all really.

I have. In fact I did it when I got home from hospital from breaking my leg and couldn’t shower.So I grabbed my hair ran a part down the middle straight down to the back of my head. Then grabbed right side brought all to the front and cut it straight across. Then did other side did the same. It looked great and felt so much better.

I cut my hair in a long shag. I watched a tutorial by Vidal Sassoon. It only took him 20 minutes to cut a long shag. It took me about 30 minutes on two consecutive days (one for the front and one for the back half). I love the way it turned out. I had the same issues you did with trying to get a straight part and trying to keep it wet.

It looks great! You did a nice job! I just did this to my hair and LOVE it! If you want the sides shorter cut more off on the front unicorn/pony tail. This cut does not take away length on your hair - it looks wonderful. Love all the beautiful layers in the back.

My whole life I've given myself what I've called a hippie layer cut. I bend over and pull all my hair up to the front of my head after wetting it. Then I binder it there. I then cut a straight cut across the whole ponytail and then let it all loose. Brush it down, and wala, hippie layering hair. If you don't want as much layering, you don't put the binder right above your forehead. You put binder right on top of your head and cut straight from there.🤠 My hair and hair line is just like yours. YOU DID VERY GOOD!!!! AND THAT LOOKS GREAT!!!❤

I have fine, straight hair and use the ponytail method. I started out with doing just one ponytail of all hair gathered up at the forehead area and cutting a small amount at a time until getting used to how it works. I’m going to try this particular two-pony method because I’d like more obvious front layers. It’s a really good method.

Back in the 70's Farrah Fawcett's hair style was popular. We used to bend over and cut our hair that fell over straight across. Gave a layered effect. Sorority old lady here but that is what we did.

I'm 89 years old and as the years went by from '60s to 70s 80s and '90s that kept curling more and more and more till now I just cut it any old way I just grab it and cut it here and there and wherever it feels like it's longer than the other part of my head every morning I wet it and just ruffle it up and it's all curled all over I like those old time poodle cuts not quite that Curly but you get the drift. You sure have patience I wouldn't have that much patience to cut hair but it looks great thank you.

I wasn't sure if I should try this because everyone else seems to do it to cut long hair just a bit shorter while I wanted to cut my long hair and make it significantly short. You showed me that it looks great for short hair as well. Thanks! I'll try it now.
