I once pulled up to Brad at a stop light on my motorcycle (he too was on his bike) we spoke shortly about our bikes and went our separate ways. I’ll never forget it, he was down to earth and nice, I also didn’t act like a fanboy either.

Yup, that's how you do it, you gotta be cool. It's probably just as well, I've been told (might not be true) that Brad Pitt visited Heinrich Harrer in preparation for making the film. Harrer hadn't heard of him so he was given a couple of DVD's of his earlier films. He thought Brad was nice and gave him his blessing (to portray himself) in the film.

Everyone assumes he's arrogant because he's successful and good-looking but if you pay attention to his interviews, he's really humble and down to earth. He's more reserved than other actors and does less interviews and people assume that's arrogance

I saw another interview where he was asked his opinion about the political situation in Tibet - and he replied something to the effect that he's an actor - why should anyone care about what he thinks about it. He wasn't full of himself unlike actors like Cruise (not so much recently but in his younger years) who thought everyone should care about his opinion.
