way off topic, but not. Puccini died before he finished TURINDOT. One of his "understudies" finished the opera for him. A conductor once got to the part when Puccini died; stopped the performance, turned to the audience and said" this is where the Maestro died and walked away.

I don't understand why some people say not to finish the series beyond season 6. Season 6-8 has some of the best episodes/scenes in the entire series. Still great to watch. A lot of other reactors here on KZbin still enjoyed them. Just because it didn't go the way they wanted it to doesn't mean it was bad. We tune in because we enjoy the reactions and want a fresh open mind about it. Game of Thrones in the end is still one of the best television series of all-time.

It MIGHT kill Danys dragons if they hit a headshot, which isn't easy to do to a dragon that's flying

@jess64792
@jess64792 7 ай бұрын
People drag it because it's very obvious promo for him and his music, and they're not at all subtle or clever about it. The way the camera pans to his face like a big reveal is just absurd. It ruins the viewer's immersion in the world for a whole scene just for the sake of audiences being able to go "OMG, it's Ed Sheeran!!!". It feels like seeing an Evian water product placement in like fucking Pride and Prejudice 2005 or something, except if the camera had stayed on the shot of the bottle of water for 15 seconds and had it sing a song.

What do people mean when they say “rushed”? There are many inconsistencies and plotholes, which goes beyond the point of being rushed. Some of the characters have nonsensical lines like Bran, of all the things he could tell Sansa he decides to say ‘you looked beautiful the night you were s*xually assaulted by Ramsey :)’ It simply did not make sense whatsoever. Tarlys betraying their bannermen the Tyrell’s AND refusing Daenerys Targaryen for Cersei when they are Targaryen loyalists in the books this was a ridiculous plot point. She is a Targaryen with dragons ffs historically only Dorne has rebelled against dragon riding Targaryens. Not Winterfell or the “North”. Torren Stark bent the knee to Aegon without Aegon even showing up to Winterfell lol. Yet they had Daenerys demanding people bend the knee while she has “3 full grown dragons same as Aegon the Conqueror” smh. The writing is just horrendous. They spoke book canon facts only to ridicule and replace it with their fanfiction writing. And don’t get me started on how they made Dany not believe in the white walkers, giving Jon a hard time where the only way to convince her was to show some random scribbles on a rock like she’s a 5 year old. In the books she dreams of fighting ice beings why the hell would she, of ALL people, not believe in the things she has witnessed in her dreams? These are only some of the many, many plotholes that the casual watcher doesn’t pick up on and it starts even earlier than S7 and S8. Showrunners betrayed her and her dragons and for that, they deserve all the criticism. They clearly showed favouritism.

I really don't understand the people who get upset at Daenerys for not believing Jon about the White Walkers. Sure, Daenerys did bring dragons into the world again, but bringing dragon eggs you already had to life through magic, dragons that *everyone* knew existed and had evidence for it and didn't go extinct that long ago, is completely different than claiming an army of undead people that is in the millions is threatening the existence of Westeros when no one has heard of them, and people from the South barely even heard of that in folk tales. Jon went to Daenerys with no proof, nothing to trade or bargain with, and expected Daenerys to abandon the thing she worked *years* towards to fight his war. We as the audience know Jon is honorable, but Daenerys trusting him immediately would have been completely out of character.

I mean, I get the wall is old and many of the stories are now disregarded as folktale, but if someone tells you the mile high wall imbued with magic exists to keep the evil dead out, not just other humans, in a world where you’re riding a damn dragon, it is ridiculous not to believe them.
@Marta-uv4id
@Marta-uv4id 7 ай бұрын
@@hayleyhellbound9513 Not really, no. Dragons and magic in general are known entities, meaning *everyone* has known of their existence for millennia. Barely anyone but the Northerners and people of the Night's Watch knows of the White Walkers, meaning if you want to barge in and demand help about something that nobody even believes exists, you better have damn good proof, which Jon doesn't have at the moment.

Dragons may be well known. However, Dany has already encountered other fantastical things she never knew about: the blood magic from the witch that took Drogo, the warlock who kidnapped her dragons, her own ability to walk through fire. And yes, the world may have experienced dragons, but she never knew about the magic that allowed her own dragons to be born from stone. Given that she has already seen these kinds of extraordinary things with her own eyes, she should have been open-minded and wise enough to accept that there were other such things in the world. But I suspect her judgement was clouded by her own entitlement and her impatience to sit the throne.

And of course I didn't care for the ending. But I'd never tell a fan not to bother watching the last 2 seasons tho!! 🙄 Oh and the biggest issue, especially with the last season, is the darkness. Even with my TV up on the brightest level I still struggled to see through the scenes. Seems like the further the series went the darker it became. In the books Dany dreams of fighting ICED BEINGS so her not believing him is pure show invention by showrunners who used her as a scapegoat for their writing incapabilities and for shock value. A lot of things do not make sense especially after you read the books. I assume the audience back then were book readers as well as show fans like me and that’s why they were better at picking up these inconsistencies. Too many casual watchers say it’s not bad it was just “rushed” and it pisses me off.

Honestly I personally think they were trying to make Bran all aloof and mysterious-like because they didn't actually know what the hell they were going to do in general so they were trying to keep it vague... The books don't extend this far ao they're definitely off roading Still how hard would it have been to tell them that because the Three Eyed Raven died before his training was complete, he doesn't have complete control over it, ao he's experiencing all manner of things from the past at this very moment with no rest or reprieve? Instead of treating him like some empty shell, treat him like a person who is simply beyond overwhelmed by a constant bombardment of memories and emotions. It would have given him an excellent scene describing trying to cling to the present and to sanity through all that and would make his numb demeanor more interesting.

I would never tell someone to just stop watching. Season 7 has some crazy entertaining moments and Season 8’s production value is insane. Even if you are sad after the ending House of The Dragon waits for you and has healed a good bit of the fandom lol. But welcome to the season where everyone persuades Dany not to take King’s Landing like she absolutely should and where we’re supposed to believe Cersei is able to actually make a stand against her 😂
@lucentaunisage
@lucentaunisage 6 ай бұрын
It was fun to finally see all these stories converge but the logic around it, how they reach the next beat and most of the character development gets erased to drive the plot are issues. Cersei basically exploded the Vatican as well as two great houses and ascending the throne with no backlash is insane! Even with Euron's insta-boat magic, it's baffling how she is remotely a viable threat.

This did not miss, love how you don’t give in to the pressure of comments and people never being happy about anything. Pay them no mind, love. I truly love your reactions. Your editing is a MASTERPIECE, and having done my fair share of editing as a journalism student I know it must take you AGES. Seing how fast you put out videos is INSANE. So proud of you and your work. Parasocial relationships are weird because I feel so invested in your success, without really knowing you, but I feel as if you’re my English bestie. Much love from Brussels ❤ always there for your reactions (and other stuff, love the podcast too) !

House of the dragon is very very good is it better than the best episode of game of thrones no but is it better overall than the last couple of seasons absolutely and you get to learn so much more about Danny's family and there are some really good characters and what most people are excited about you actually get to see grown ass dragons from episode 1 keep in mind as long as drogon is he's only seven at the end of the series he was born at the end of season 1 he's still very young as some of the dragons of centuries passed could be like 200 he's essentially a baby

I don't like this direction for Bran's character either. While he was never one of the 'headliner' characters, he did have a personality. Bran fans must be so disappointed that the character they fell in love with is gone just like that and they now have to navigate how they feel about what is essentially a brand new character played by the same actor.

We lost a lot of traveling scenes where we could see character building/shredding with Meera or even Edd and the Night's Watch crew at the wall so it was extremely abrupt to meet the new BranBot-2000. His chat with Sansa about how beautiful she looked on the worst night of her life was awful. I know he isn't himself anymore but geez, the loss of his verbal filter of ways to communicate with humans was jarring.

The sad part of Jamie’s storyline in this episode is the fact that last time he had something to do with a Targaryen, he was pretty much forced to take action and kill the king as he saw him for what he was - a mad man on a killing spree demanding to burn them all. And the next time Jamie is facing a Targaryen, it’s pretty much the same thing; in his eyes a mad Targaryen with a dragon with the possibility to burn them all. Has to be a super scary situation and ptsd rushing through him, making him willing to sacrifice his life to kill another mad Targaryen. You can say a lot about Jamie, but his willingness to go 1-1 with Daenerys and Drogon in this episode speaks volumes of his character.

Imagine Ollena opening her lady handbag after Jaime leaves, and it's all filled with antidotes. Sike! Or she be like that Greek dude, Mithridates VI who was taking small doses of poisons since childhood and gained immunity to all of them and when the hour came when he wanted an easy death he tried to poison himself, the poison didn’t work, and he was like, “Yap, but it was worth a try.”

You're right, he would be her nephew. Lyanna was with Daenerys' older brother, Rhaegar. I think that was Nymeria, but like Arya she's "wild" and is doing her own thing and doesn't care to be a domesticated wolf anymore, she's now the leader of a pack. That's why she said "that's not you".
