idk what it is...maybe a Canadian thing, but Avril can play all these instruments as well...I think Canada just has a better expectation of their artists than here in america. they expect them to be actual musicians. they britneys and all the other poppers at that time only sang...no musical ability in other places...one of the reasons they got more respect from me.

So many Alanis Morissette songs played on the radio when I was younger, so hearing them now is so nostalgic. Many of these I haven't heard in 20+ years, yet used to be played over and over again. My mom had whatever station played them constantly while I was in backseat of the car lol. In this song I always thought she was saying "You dont have to run me over" lol

Make the next song you guys play by her be “All I Really Want”. It has over the top vocals, excellent lyrics, has a great beat, -- A total banger!! It’s was the first song that I listened to by Alanis on an Alternative radio station as I was driving to work at 11:00 pm getting ready to work the graveyard shift, that propelled me to immediately by her album. They started playing it before I ever heard “You Outta Know”. I was hooked from the start!!! 😎

Fun fact: in the part she says "best friends with benefits" is actually the first time that this term was ever used (as far as we can be aware of), so in a way you can pretty much say that Alanis is kind of responsible for spreading this expression. Lovely reaction as usual, I recommend you guys react to All I Really Want by her, vocally it's one of her most incredible and peculiar songs, and the lyrics are awesome. Hands Clean is also a highlight because of its amazing lyrics too.

YES LEX🤘 That's exactly how I started learning songs, only I didn't have internet or YOU TUBE to learn how to play, if I was lucky I could afford a tab/ chord book otherwise it's listening to a song a million times till I figure it out. You have an advantage I didn't have back in the 90s but that's a good thing. When Alanis was a younger girl, she started her career on a Canadian Television Show called: "You Can't Do That On TV." A comedy skit show where she was very funny and loved. Her fans lost track of her as she was coming into her adult self, and were totally blindsided when she exploded onto the music scene. She was struggling to be taken seriously, but that's what fed her frustration and caused her breakthrough hit, " You Oughta Know" from her album Jagged Little Pill.

Alanis is one of the biggest stars of the '90s and '00s. Plenty of great videos and songs from her. Yes, she plays harmonica and guitar and is an actress, too. Brad gushes on Alanis Morrisette just as much as Lex gushes on Robert Plant/Led Zeppelin doing hard blues rock covers on old blues songs. lol. Great artists, though.

Lex commented about how her music was harder than you would expect from her voice. She had great musicians in her band, including Her drummer, Taylor Hawkins, who went on to be the drummer in The Foo Fighters, and who just recently and tragically died.

I've always loved Atlanta Morissette, you want to listen to an eerie song by her, then you have to give a listen to her song called "Uinvited", which if I remember correctly was based on a true story. She has so many incredible songs, but that's one of my favorites. I think it's so cute that Brad is taken by her, she's a beautiful woman, that has a unique and beautiful voice.
