Thanks Brad, Team Sky coaching and management and all the great track and road champions like Cav, and Boardman earlier, for amazing memories. I started following cycling in ‘86, a whole new world opened up. I could only ever dream of Brits being prolific stage, classics and stage races winners. The whole ethos and discipline of the track, the World Performance system and simply thinking differently in a way not many had before them.

I do care, hence the question. My two cents is that while we can certainly apply the "innocent until proven guilty" logic here, the timing and the subsequent concealment, which came to light much later, of the TUEs were not coincidental. I have absolutely no doubt that wiggo is a beast of an athlete and am myself a fan, but i have to admit given what we know now, it's hard not to have a bad taste in the mouth.

i went from an 85kg 18 year old that smoked and drank since I was 14. to 57kg running 10k under 40 minutes in just 2 years. I wish i could have ran more but my knees and hips couldn't keep up with my enthusiasm . my secret was high carb diet and a heart rate monitor. just do aerobic base training as much as long as you can. Just put the miles in! im sure there are better ways but hey. just sharing :) I quit running to do ultra endurance cycling as its more of a low impact sport; and I like the idea of cycling 500km in a day; haven't done it yet! but that's my goal!

rosrebel Firstly, “high hole” really. Secondly when I look up Bradley Wiggins, I still see 2012 Tour de France winner by his name. He is a winner until proven otherwise.
@JosephLycettCycling4 жыл бұрын
rosrebel it’s not hard to believe that Wiggins won that Tour when you consider that Contador was serving a ban and Schleck was out injured. Cadel Evans also lost a lot of time during the opening week to Wiggins, purely through misfortune. Vincenzo Nibali was still fairly young, inexperienced and really only had an ageing Ivan Basso to help him in the mountains, whilst Wiggins had future Grand Tour contenders such as Porte and Froome to guide him to the summit of the mountains. Why would Team Sky also push this massive anti-doping stance if they were going to dope anyway. Surely that would lead to a higher fall from grace when they eventually get caught. Because we also haven’t had reports from any former Team Sky riders of structured doping within the team, similarly to how we did with the Motorola and US Postal Service teams when Lance Armstrong was winning his Tours, that also makes it hard to believe that there is anything going on inside Team Sky/Ineos. TUEs have also been around in sport for ages and the UCI are not supposed to share that information to the public. The difference those substances make on a normal athlete are not even noticeable, whilst for an asthmatic person like Froome and Wiggins they can level the playing field and allows us to see their full potential if they didn’t have asthma.
@rosrebel4 жыл бұрын
Wiggins is a cheat ....tue,s ...etc ...seriously lads ...from the track to the tour ...it’s as if usain bolt went from the 300 meters to marathon ....not particulArly believable ....it’s improbable that any winner of the tour was ever completely clean .....naivety is the willingness to not look at facts and a lazy mans ignorance to think logically and not question ones own inner believes . The sporting world at elite level will always be murky , with so much money and “ national pride ‘ at stake ...,.........as an ex athlete I recently had a conversation with a training partner of Justin Gatlin who will never accept gatlin doped ( 7 yrs banned altogether ) .......why .... because not because he is naive ( dumb maybe ) but I think even afraid of gatlin .......remember Armstrong was a complete bully ....any way ..plenty of blabbing ...but don’t let the fact that Wiggins is a true Brit get in the way of logical thought ....cyclists should long have a biological passport , and Wiggins has never legitimately answered any questions ...he knew once he had ‘ won ‘ the tour ...get out quick ......next thing people will be telling me mo Farrah really wasnt being coached by Salazar but a buddy of his from Portland ...even though he has never been interviewed properly .....😗🤯

@DHTCF6 жыл бұрын
Froome was better, as he had been in the Vuelta 2011. But then Froome got to ride w/o wiggins in 2014, when Wiggins might have been useful. Not in the same way as Froome, but a useful marker of other riders. Froome has more reason to be vexed about the Vuelta. He was clearly better, and the team didn't even win. They blew his chances for someone who didn't win.

This was actually a very bizar Tour. Britain 1-2 and 3 wins for them. And 4 wins by another Brit in sprints. On top of that they won the timetrial in Britain with a 1-2. Its logic that all this raises questions looking at the history of cycling. But then the docu ends withs his Nan and thats just... you know. Thats what makes him a legend.

We ask athletes to perform on superhuman levels. And then admonish them for the manner in which they are able to perform. “Cheating” is a word spectators use. Let all sport and human achievement rise to it’s ultimate expression and Glory. By any means necessary.

the position is so different from Road to TT bike that muscle groups work together differently. You want to train for both...climbing is the best way to get into the prescribed power zones for a given interval; TT bike or not.
